Say NO to Mercosur.

Canadian beef producers have some of the highest standards of animal care, food safety, sustainability, and labour in the world.

SCA is currently engaging industry partners and government at both the federal and provincial levels to communicate that a Mercosur trade deal will undermine these standards and the long-term viability of Canada’s beef sector.

We are encouraging all beef producers to TAKE ACTION and add their voice to the discussion.

Saskatchewan cattle producers support disease preparedness and effective traceability. But additional regulation without practical infrastructure, reliable technology, and producer confidence will not strengthen the system.

The SCA is calling on CFIA to pause the proposed traceability amendments until industry-led solutions can address critical gaps around tag retention, rural connectivity, reporting technology, data security, and disease response readiness.

We encourage all producers to engage in the discussion and share their perspectives with the SCA and Canadian Cattle Association.

SK PCAP's May Native Prairie Speaker Series Webinar is about Prairie Amphibians!
"What's On the Menu? Diet Analysis of Prairie Amphibians During the Breeding Season"

Tuesday May 12th, 2026 at 12:00pm MT TOMORROW!
Speaker: Jo Vos, recent M.Sc. Graduate, University of Lethbridge

Register Free: https://shorturl.at/nCziy

This presentation is FREE! Tune in from anywhere! Everyone welcome!

About this Webinar:
In the vast, semi-arid landscapes of Southern Alberta, amphibians like the Boreal Chorus Frog and the Plains Spadefoot play vital yet often overlooked roles in the ecosystem. This talk explores Jo Vos’ Master’s research, which utilized dietary analysis to examine how these species sustain themselves within the prairie mosaic. By understanding the trophic interactions of these amphibians, we gain a clearer picture of wetland health and the complex food webs that support Southern Alberta’s unique biodiversity. Jo will share key findings from the field, the challenges of studying these elusive species, and why their conservation is essential for a resilient prairie ecosystem.

PCAP’s Native Prairie Speaker Series is a monthly webinar about prairie conservation or species at risk.

Saskatchewan cattle producers are calling for CFIA reform.

Listen in as Chad Ross, SCA Board Chair and Sandy Russell, CEO, discuss national disease preparedness.

We need a system that supports and incentivizes producers, not one that criminalizes them. CFIA is an important partner in animal disease preparedness, and producers rely on its ability to respond to a disease outbreak quickly and efficiently. We want to work with CFIA to create this reform, but we need a responsive and collaborative partner to join us at the table.

Producers are encouraged to get in touch with the SCA to share their thoughts.
