SCEP CENTRE Early Intervention & Training Services SCEP CENTRE is a therapeutic early intervention program for young children with severe communication and behaviour challenges.

We also offer guidance and support for families and caregivers. All services are provided in a trauma-responsive environment. SCEP stands for Socialization, Communication and Education Program. For the past 53 years, SCEP CENTRE has provided therapeutic early intervention for children between the ages of 2-5 who have severe communication and behaviour challenges. Many of the children referred to SCEP have been expelled or are unable to function in regular childcare centres, early learning centres and/or pre-kindergarten or kindergarten programs. Some of the enrolled children have been diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, global developmental delay or autism spectrum disorder. Others present with severe communication and behavioural challenges related to environmental factors such as poverty, domestic violence, intergenerational trauma and family stress. SCEP CENTRE fosters the development of communication, emotional maturity, healthy interpersonal relationships as well as pre-academic and social skill development, enabling the children to begin to heal and be integrated back into mainstream programs when ready. SCEP also provides support to the parents and caregivers of our enrolled children. SCEP CENTRE also provides outreach support to the childcare community and is a training site for practicum students in Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, etc.

Our 4th annual Regina’s Got Talent was more than we could have hoped for, and we’re still feeling all the love!

The talent on that stage was unbelieveable. A huge congratulations to this year’s winners:

🏆 1st Place: Marta Dubinsky, who blew us away with her vocals at just 13 years old.

💙 People’s Choice: Joel Alberts, who shared an original piece on stage for the very first time.

If we could make everyone a winner, we would. To every performer, thank you for spending the evening with us, sharing your talent and bringing so much energy and heart to the stage. You made this night so special!

A huge thank you to our sponsors who make this event possible, our incredible staff and event committee who bring it all together, and our judges and emcees who helped make the night unforgettable. We couldn’t do it without you!

Nights like this remind us exactly what it means to be part of a community that shows up, celebrates local talent and supports a cause that matters. We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, cheered and helped make this another incredible event in support of SCEP. 💙
