CBA Bison Producer Pricing Survey - For the Month of September 2026 - Action Required for Those Who Sold Animals

As mentioned at the beginning of September, we are changing the way we collect pricing information. Going forward, producers, like you, are being asked to report on the price they receive for their animals. We will consolidate the information submitted thru the survey and create a pricing report monthly.

We have received positive responses to the idea, but success will only be seen if we get good volumes of information. To date we have not received adequate volumes of sale information to publish the report.

Thank you to those producers who submitted anonymous pricing information on animals last month.

If you sold animals in September but have not reported yet, this will be your last opportunity. Please provide details of the sale,

New Study Reveals Gaps in Bison Parasite Management

A new study led by researchers at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) published in Veterinary Parasitology examined how bison producers manage parasites, providing new information that could help researchers develop more targeted approaches to deworming and slow the development of drug resistance.

Gastrointestinal parasites can cause serious health problems in North American bison, but the drugs producers rely on to control them can become less effective when used too frequently or without knowing which animals actually need treatment.
