🌍 Celebrating Immigrant Heritage Month 🌍

June is Immigrant Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the journeys, contributions, and achievements of immigrants who help shape our communities every day.

Immigrants bring diverse perspectives, skills, cultures, and experiences that enrich our workplaces, neighbourhoods, and social fabric. Their stories of courage, resilience, and determination remind us of the strength that comes from diversity and inclusion.

This month, we honour the many ways immigrants contribute to our communities—through entrepreneurship, innovation, volunteerism, cultural traditions, and community leadership. We also recognize the challenges many newcomers face and the importance of creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.

Together, we celebrate the stories, talents, and contributions that make our communities stronger.

❤️ Thank you to the immigrants who have chosen to make Regina their home and who continue to enrich our shared future.

Congratulations to MCoS' Board Member, Dr. Shela Hirani on winning the Regina 25 Game Changer Award!

More than 200,000 families around the world have been impacted by the work of Dr Shela Hirani PhD, MScN, IBCLC, FAAN. That's just one of the many reasons we're proud to recognize her as a Regina 25 Game Changer.

As a Professor at the University of Regina, Shela leads research, advocacy, and community partnerships that strengthen outcomes for families in Saskatchewan and beyond. Through initiatives like the Breastfeeding Advocacy Research Lab and Voices of Migrant Families, she is helping break down barriers, promote inclusion, and improve access to support for families.

Her work has earned more than 80 national and international honours, but perhaps her greatest achievement is the lasting impact she continues to have on communities around the world.

Please join us in celebrating Shela! 👏
