Taking a moment to reflect on my journey, I realize how fortunate I am to engage in work that inspires me. The challenges I face contribute to my growth, while the successes reinforce my commitment to my goals. Each experience teaches me valuable lessons, shaping not only my professional skills but also my character. Iโ€™m grateful for the support from colleagues and mentors, which has played a significant role in my development. This reflection reminds me to stay humble and acknowledge the progression I have made, while also looking forward to future opportunities.

As April has come to a close, and the month of May has begun, I've been reflecting on the journey. My middle child's baptism at was a milestone, and I'm grateful for those who joined us. Looking back to 2018, I knew our church community would be a source of strength for our family. As a mom of three, life's had its challenges, but our faith has been the constant that's seen us through.

Thank you for your support and for believing in the work we do here . May you be encouraged to lean on your faith as you navigate life's ups and downs, and may you grow into the truth God has for you. Here's to this new season ahead! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ.

๐ŸŒŸ Exciting news! Our debut on CTV News Live during Black History Month 2026 has gone viral! ๐ŸŽ‰

Hi, Iโ€™m Sharon Makanga, a mom to three amazing girls. As an empath, Iโ€™ve always envisioned a world driven by inclusion. But the journey doesnโ€™t stop after Black History Month.

Did you know that only 33.1% of popular films feature lead characters from underrepresented racial groups? This impacts how our youth see themselves. Additionally, companies with higher ethnic diversity are 36% more likely to outperform their peers.

Representation matters! A staggering 73% of African Canadian teens feel that media representation shapes their self-image. Itโ€™s crucial that we share diverse narratives in storytelling.

Letโ€™s continue advocating for inclusion and make our voices heard! ๐Ÿ’–

Reflecting on African Canadian Black History Month is such an important moment. It highlights the contributions of peoples within our community and how it influences our larger Canadian Society.

As a mother first, increasing education and awareness of historical and present day events especially during the month of February is a responsibility that is not taken lightly. A privilege as we continue to support the many voices that seek to reconcile the past and be affirmed of their lived experiences.

Generational Wealth โ€” Just before the world changed with COVID-19, I took a leap and purchased Main Street, unaware of the challenges and transformations ahead. Her history and what she means to our local community are precisely why I knew this investment was right. From supporting a massage therapist, accountant, and even a small boutique, this space has become a hub for local dreams and connections. Building a legacy, one step at a time. ๐Ÿกโœจ
