Our NICU Parents Group is Virtual this Friday Feb 14!

Led by a perinatal mental health facilitator, this free peer support group is for parents who are currently or previously experienced time in the NICU for any reason. Experiences in the NICU are unique and complex, with parents of NICU babies being at increased risk of experiencing Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders and/or PTSD. Our group is a safe space for parents to connect with others with similar lived experiences and receive helpful resources. Both birthing parent and partner are welcome to attend.
We kindly ask that any babies in attendance be under 2 years old.

A heartfelt gift can say so much. This thoughtful gesture was given to Janna and Rachael, our Library Outreach Crisis Workers, by someone who deeply valued the support they received.

Janna and Rachael are more than just service navigators—they are compassionate advocates who bring care, patience, and understanding to every interaction. Whether helping someone access vital resources or simply listening when it’s needed most, their work makes a lasting impact in our community.

If you or someone you know could use the guidance of a social worker or service navigator, Janna and Rachael are here to help. You can book an appointment through Community Connect Regina: https://launch.caredove.com/service/eventspage/27751

Last week, counsellors from Family Service Saskatchewan’s Rapid Access Counselling for Children, Youth, and their Caregivers gathered from across the province for two days of training on play and sand tray therapy with Tammy Schamuhn from the Institute of Child Psychology.

Sand tray therapy is a powerful tool used in play therapy, beneficial for children, teens, and even adults. It allows clients to use creativity and symbolic representation to explore their feelings when expressing emotions verbally is difficult.

Through sand tray therapy, clients can process trauma, express themselves non-verbally, and build their own narratives in a safe, creative space. It’s also highly effective in family therapy, where each family member can create their own “story” within the tray, offering insight into their dynamics and connections.

If you or someone you know could benefit from free counselling, Family Service Sask’s Rapid Access Counselling Program for Children, Youth, and their Caregivers is available to book online at www.communityconnectsask.ca
