For the love of nature, here we go again....
Loyal followers may remember last December when the same corporation tried to build an entire village immediately south of us. Logic prevailed after 19 neighbours spoke in opposition at the hearing and several more people sent letters, and the RM denied the rezoning and subdivision proposal. We had hoped that was the end of it.
Fast forward to today... it's clear that the same corporation is now trying to take the baby steps approach to building their village, one structure at a time, in hopes that we won't notice (?). Once a parcel becomes zoned Commercial, it can be used for any commercial/industrial purpose and neighbours will not be notified or have a voice on the matter.
Anyways, back to the RM office we go for the public hearing on May 21 at 9:45 to reiterate ALL of the exact same points that we reiterated in December for why commercial zoning in this lot is a direct conflict of the Zoning Bylaw and Official Community Plan and not a suitable next door neighbour to a property focused on conservation and restoration and the 150+ species who were here first.
Wish us luck.
