πŸŒ…πŸš‘ Living the Saskatchewan Dream πŸš‘πŸŒ…

One of our incredible Saskatchewan Patient Transfer Services team members captured this breathtaking sunrise while responding to an early morning call in Northern Saskatchewan.

Moments like these are a reminder of why Saskatchewan is proudly known as the β€œLand of Living Skies.” Every day, our crews travel thousands of kilometres across this beautiful province, from bustling cities to remote northern communities, and we’re constantly reminded of the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Whether it’s a golden prairie sunset, a northern sunrise painted in shades of purple and pink, or endless horizons stretching as far as the eye can see, we’re incredibly fortunate to call this place home.

As we serve patients across Saskatchewan 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we’re grateful not only for the opportunity to help people when they need us most, but also for the privilege of experiencing scenes like this along the way.

We truly are lucky to live, work, and raise our families here on the Canadian Prairies. ❀️

Two of our many fantastic staff Nathan & Liam were at the Regina Public Library - Glen Elm Branch event this last weekend, showcasing our ambulances and wheelchair vans to many kiddos from the city. They handed out freezies, suckers, and stickers to many kids interested in what we do; some even got to go up and down on our powered stretchers! Tours in the back of our vehicles was quite popular! These are the types of community events that we love to be a part of!

🚨 If only Saskatchewan had a dedicated non-emergency patient transfer service provider ready to be part of the overall solution in the shortage, burnout, and workload issues that our citizens’ valued and relied upon professional Paramedics face daily…

Wait, it does, and we’ve been here since 2018 helping the Saskatchewan Health Authority daily wherever we can with low-acuity, stable patient transportation by stretcher.

Unfortunately, EMS, our highest level pre-hospital service for emergencies is spread thin to the point of being completely unavailable on a daily basis because of misuse that the Ministry of Health inadvertently promotes by subsidizing the costs for only ambulances to complete patient discharges to home hospital or long-term care facilities, scheduled medical appointments, living relocations, etc.

Although we are able to provide the same professional level of service for non-emergencies, the provincial government continues to turn a blind eye to how we can save Saskatchewan taxpayers millions of dollars while simultaneously increasing ambulance availability without adding any more resources to the system.

When a rural ambulance leaves their community for Regina or Saskatoon on a non-emergency basis simply because it is β€œfree” or heavily subsidized for the patient, communities daily go without help or face extremely long response times for time-critical emergencies like heart attacks, childbirth, choking, strokes, seizures, etc.

Ambulance response times and lack of availability is a continual news headline; how many citizens need to potentially knock on death’s door for the Ministry of Health’s Acute & Emergency Services Branch to want to meet with us to discuss change so we can help with this dire crisis? 🚨
