What is Giving Tuesday?
In Canada, Giving Tuesday is celebrated as a national day of generosity, taking place on the Tuesday following U.S. Thanksgiving and Canada’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping days. Known as the "opening day of the giving season," it encourages Canadians to give back to their communities through donations, volunteering, and acts of kindness.

Since its launch in Canada in 2013, Giving Tuesday has grown rapidly with support from charities, businesses, and individuals across the country. Canadian nonprofits often use the day to kick off holiday giving campaigns, and many companies match employee donations or organize charity events to amplify their impact.

The movement is led by CanadaHelps and GIV3, and it serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about various causes, drive donations, and inspire Canadians to engage in their communities.
