Establish a Seniors Advocate in Saskatchewan!
As the Provincial Election draws near, candidates from various parties may be contacting you to get your support . Please ask them what their position is on establishing a Seniors Advocate Office in Saskatchewan which would be independent of Government . Their role would be to advocate on issues related to seniors and and to undertake important work which would enhance the lives of seniors in the province.
Currently, almost all provinces in Canada have such an office or something similar but Saskatchewan does not. All we have is a Provincial Cabinet Minister whose duties include Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health Care.
Remember, seniors ( people aged 65 years and older) comprised 17.5% of Saskatchewan's population in 2021 so we have significant clout as a voting group.
