🍎🚌 Back to School Let’s Keep Our Kids Safe! 🚌🍎

The backpacks are packed, the school buses are rolling, and another school year is beginning! As our kids head back to classrooms, we’re asking everyone in our community to take a little extra care on the roads.
Slow down in school zones, watch carefully at intersections and crosswalks, and always be prepared for children who may be excited, distracted, or still learning how to safely navigate their way to school.
When you see a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, STOP. Give children plenty of space and never assume they can see you.
A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference.
To our students: be safe, be kind, look out for one another, and have an amazing school year. 📚✨
To our teachers, school staff, bus drivers, parents, caregivers, crossing guards and everyone helping get our kids safely where they need to be, thank you.
It takes a community to keep our kids safe. ❤️
From all of us at South Shore First Responders, we wish our students a happy, safe and wonderful school year! 🚑🎒
Slow down. Stay alert. Keep little eyes and feet in mind.

An End-of-Summer Thank You to Our Community ❤️

As summer begins to wind down, we want to take a moment to recognize the people who quietly make our community such a special place to call home.
In a small community, when an emergency happens—whatever it may be—we often see the very best in the people around us. Neighbours step forward to help neighbours. Community members offer whatever they can. Our volunteer First Responders and Fire Department leave their families, homes and everyday lives to answer the call, often during some of the most difficult moments another person may experience.
To our First Responders, Fire Department, volunteers and community members who continue to step up when someone needs help—thank you.
Your time, compassion, training and willingness to be there matter more than you may ever realize. Our community is safer and stronger because people continue to show up for one another.
We also want to remind everyone that emergencies and difficult situations can affect people long after the immediate moment has passed. If you are struggling, please reach out for support. You do not have to know exactly who to call or where to begin. If you aren't sure how to find the right resources, you can always reach out to our First Responders team and we will do our best to help connect you with appropriate support.
As another busy summer comes to a close, thank you for looking out for one another, for lending a hand when it's needed, and for continuing to make our little community a place where people care.
Take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and never be afraid to ask for help. ❤️

Today is your last chance to stop by Papa Geordie and check out the Star Ambulance fundraiser!

In a small community, fundraising like this is about so much more than dollars. It's about neighbours helping neighbours, ensuring our first responders have the equipment they need, and making sure help is there when someone is having the worst day of their life.

Every ticket purchased, donation made, and conversation shared helps strengthen emergency care right here at home. Thank you to everyone who has supported this incredible cause and to the volunteers, businesses, and community members who made it possible.

If you haven't stopped by yet, today's the day. Let's finish strong and continue showing what a caring, generous community we have. ❤️🚑

🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day! ❤️🤍

As we celebrate everything that makes our community so special, we'd like to remind everyone to stay safe while enjoying today's festivities.

With extra visitors in town for the parade and celebrations, please be patient on our roads, watch for pedestrians, and keep an eye on children in busy areas. If you're celebrating with alcohol or cannabis, plan a safe ride home and never drive impaired.

We're incredibly grateful to the many volunteers, organizers, businesses, and community members who dedicate countless hours behind the scenes to make Canada Day such a memorable event. Your hard work helps showcase the incredible community we're proud to call home.

From all of us at South Shore First Responders, thank you for doing your part to keep our community welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Have a wonderful Canada Day, celebrate responsibly, and look out for one another. 🇨🇦❤️

☀️ School's Out, Summer's On! ☀️

As another school year comes to a close, we'd like to wish all students a safe and fun summer break!

🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Your hard work has paid off, and we can't wait to see where your next adventure takes you. Be proud of everything you've accomplished!

With summer comes more time outdoors, and we encourage everyone to make safety a priority:
💙 Be kind and respectful to your friends, neighbors, and community members. 🤝 Remember that peer pressure can be tough—it's always okay to make the safe choice, even if it's different from what others are doing. 🏊 If you're heading to the lake, wear a properly fitted life jacket when appropriate, keep an eye on children at all times, and never swim alone. 🚤 Whether you're riding an ATV, dirt bike, side-by-side, boat, or other motorized vehicle, wear the proper safety gear, follow the rules, and never operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs. ☀️ Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and watch for changing weather conditions.

Let's all do our part to make this a summer filled with great memories and safe adventures.

Have a fantastic summer, and once again, congratulations to all of our graduates! 🎉🌞💙
