Sky's the Limit Youth Organization

Sky's the Limit Youth Organization 5,715 computers placed to date! Sky’s the Limit provides laptops to the youth who need them. We acknowledge our role as settlers in this land on Turtle Island.

Sky’s the Limit Youth Organization, a non-Indigenous organization, is committed to ensuring that all youth have access to technology and the opportunity to expand and heighten their knowledge and skills. We are grateful to be able to live and work on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and

the Wendat Peoples. We recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and the Inuit peoples. We recognize the injustices of colonization and how we, as settlers, have directly benefitted from a colonial culture that has overseen the genocide, systematic oppression, and exploitation of Indigenous peoples. We commit to working toward safe, inclusive, just, equitable and healthy communities for all.

In their first mother-son collaboration, Ocean (Founder, Ocean's Water) and his mom Lara (Founder, Sky's the Limit Youth Organization) joined The Green Herons’ turtle parade, an event spotlighting the organization’s life-saving work to protect turtle hatchlings across the Niagara region.

The group of enthusiastic youth eco-activists put up signage, marked turtle-crossing hot zones, and raised awareness about keeping both hatchlings and mature turtles safe from local traffic.

Ocean was grateful for the opportunity to take action alongside his fellow young changemakers. He also did double duty as a Sky’s the Limit volunteer, donating five laptops to The Green Herons to support their vital environmental work.

Based in the Niagara region, The Green Herons create purpose and leadership opportunities for young people by supporting youth-inspired projects that protect natural spaces and native species. From youth education programs to hands-on conservation work, they’re building the next generation of environmental stewards. Learn more and get involved at www.thegreenherons.org.

Founded by Ocean when he was just four years old, Ocean’s Water is a youth-led organization dedicated to ocean conservation and inspiring young people to protect marine life and shorelines. Through community cleanups, awareness campaigns, and grassroots action, Ocean and his volunteers are proving that small actions add up to big impact. Learn more at www.oceanswater.org.

Sky's the Limit Youth Organization delivered 20 laptops to QSLA Quantum Sports & Learning Association Foundation in support of their groundbreaking mission to reduce barriers for youth ages 4–29.

QSLA creates access to academically driven athletic programs by removing registration fees and providing bursaries, scholarships, and essential supports so youth can fully participate and thrive.

We were also honoured to support QSLA’s holiday gift distribution for families in need. STL volunteer Ocean took his role as Santa’s helper very seriously, helping select games, toys, puzzles, arts and crafts kits, plushies, dolls, and jewellery-making kits.

The gifts were delivered to Selena Mason, Education Assistant at Native Youth Resource Centre - NCFST (Native Child and Family Services Toronto).

Selena is personally wrapping every gift and delivering them to families in her community. 🎁

Laptop donations were made possible thanks to funding from the Tavares Family Foundation. All laptops were refurbished with care by Reboot Canada 💚

Sky's the Limit Youth Organization had the privilege of delivering 10 laptops to the Native Youth Resource Centre - NCFST, part of Native Child and Family Services Toronto (NCFST), located at 655 Bloor St. West.

The Centre is a vibrant, culturally grounded space for Indigenous youth aged 16–29 to gather, learn, and grow. Its programs support employment, education, housing, arts, health, cultural connection, and community-building, all within a beautiful, purpose-built facility designed with warmth and inclusivity at its heart.

These laptops will be used immediately to support youth pursuing meaningful opportunities, including:

- Students continuing their education at TMU through the Indigenous Writing program.

- Young people enrolling in the online Ojibwe language course offered by Anishinaabemowin-Teg.

- Youth completing housing, education, and employment searches as they work toward stability and independence.

- Participants connected to both the Bloor Street location and those coming from the Galloway site.

All laptops were refurbished with care by Free Geek Toronto. 💚

Thank you to Ocean, our STL Youth Volunteer, for helping with the delivery.

Giving Tuesday is here.

Today is a reminder that generosity can change a life.

As the holiday season ramps up, we are surrounded by messages encouraging us to buy more, replace more and throw away more. But today, more than ever, many of our young people need something different.

They need access. They need opportunity.

They need the tools to learn, grow and succeed.

For over 20 years, Sky’s the Limit Youth Organization has worked to close the digital divide across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Many youth still do not have a computer at home, which affects their education, confidence and future possibilities.

This Giving Tuesday, we are calling on the strength and power of our STL community to help change that.

A donation of $300 places a high quality refurbished laptop directly into the hands of a youth who needs it today. If $300 is not possible, any amount helps.

No donation is too small.

Donate through our CanadaHelps page:
https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/skys-the-limit-youth-organization/

You can choose to support:
⭐️ Female and gender nonconforming youth
⭐️ Indigenous youth
⭐️ LGBTQ2S youth
⭐️ Youth with disabilities
⭐️ Wherever it is needed most

Let’s stand together and make sure no youth in the GTA is left behind this season.

Your generosity will be remembered long after the holidays are over.

Give opportunity. Give access.
Give a laptop!

Upon graduation, each student was given the laptop they used during the camp.

Her Code Camp is a non-profit organization that aims to provide female and non-binary students with an opportunity to learn coding skills and be connected with mentors who study and work in fields related to computer science.

This generous donation was made possible thanks to devices donated by Ernst and Young and funding provided by the Tavares Family Foundation. All laptops were refurbished with care by Free Geek Toronto.

Last Friday, we had the privilege of delivering 10 laptops to the Native Youth Resource Centre, part of Native Child and Family Services Toronto, located at 655 Bloor St. West.

A heartfelt thanks to the leadership and staff for welcoming us and giving us a tour of this incredible space. It was truly inspiring to see the impact of your work firsthand.

The Centre is a vibrant, culturally grounded space for Indigenous youth aged 16–29 to gather, learn, and grow. Its programs support employment, education, housing, arts, health, and connection to culture and community, all within a beautiful, purpose-built facility designed with warmth and inclusivity at its heart.

We were also honoured to be invited to attend their 28th Annual Community Pow Wow the following day. It was a beautiful celebration where we learned more about Indigenous culture and traditions.

We’re deeply grateful to long-term donors Ray Tavares and Stephanie Weekes for generously donating the funds to pay for these laptops, and to Free Geek Toronto for professionally refurbishing and preparing them for distribution.

Each laptop represents access to opportunity, creativity, and connection. Together, we’re helping bridge the digital divide and empowering Indigenous youth for a brighter future.
