We have been keeping a secret and this month we have finally been able to share with our community partners.

Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation we are proud to announce that a wheelchair accessible Grand Caravan has been added to our fleet. This investment has helped us to improve safe, reliable, and inclusive transportation for the individuals we support in the Red Lake and Ear Falls District.

"Accessible transportation plays a critical role in helping people connect to employment, medical appointments, recreation and community activities, and everyday opportunities that promote independence and inclusion," said Jennifer Parsons, Executive Director who joined Kiiwetinoong MPP Sol Mamakwa to make the announcement in a virtual event on May 20, 2026. "Affordable and and accessible transportation is a foundational barrier that many of the those we support face and with our partners support we are addressing this barrier."

MPP Mamakwa spoke with our group and noted “I am delighted that the Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided funding for Harmony Centre to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van. Access to transportation means access to community, especially in the North. This new van opens doors for people with mobility challenges, strengthening community connection where it’s needed most.”

Mayor Fred Mota said this week of the purchase "On behalf of the Municipality, I want to congratulate Harmony Centre for Community Living on receiving this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. Accessible transportation is essential to building an inclusive community, and this investment will help ensure that the individuals supported by Harmony Centre can continue to participate fully in community life with dignity, safety, and independence. We are proud to see organizations like Harmony Centre continuing to demonstrate leadership and commitment to accessibility in our region.”

Keep an eye out in the community for our newest purchase.

Harmony Centre for Community Living would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Red Lake Branch for their generous donation in support of our organization.

Executive Director Jennifer Parsons was honoured to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on May 9, 2026 to accept the donation on behalf of Harmony Centre. We are incredibly grateful for the Legion’s continued commitment to supporting organizations and initiatives that strengthen our community.

Community partnerships like these make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we support and help us continue providing inclusive, person-centred services throughout the Red Lake and Ear Falls District.

Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Red Lake Branch 102 for your generosity, community spirit, and ongoing support!

On Saturday, Nov. 29/25 a group of individuals supported by Harmony Centre and our staff made the trip to Ear Falls to accept a generous donation from KD's Fine Foods. A huge thank you to Karen, Darryl and Greg from Fine Foods for your support and for welcoming our group so warmly. Your generosity helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities for inclusion, growth and everyday joy. We've made another big purchase thanks to donations from our community. Stay tuned to future posts to see what's next for us.
