Each year on April 28, we observe the National Day of Mourning, remembering and honouring workers who have been injured, become ill, or lost their lives because of their work.
This day is about more than remembrance. It is also a reminder that workplace injury, illness, violence, and death continue to affect workers, families, and communities across Alberta.
Everyone deserves to be safe at work and to return home at the end of the day.
HSAA is marking the Day of Mourning by honouring those we have lost and calling for safer workplaces, stronger protections, and better support for workers.
Attend a Day of Mourning ceremony in your community and reflect on the importance of workplace health and safety.
