On May 29, Albertans will gather in communities across the province for a Day of Protest organized by the Alberta Federation of Labour, with rallies planned in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray and more.

Through the Fight Back Now campaign, workers, families and community members will come together to speak up about the issues affecting Albertans and the public services we all rely on.

By registering and participating, Albertans will send a clear message: people are paying attention, raising their voices and demanding better for workers, families and communities across the province.

Each year on April 28, we observe the National Day of Mourning, remembering and honouring workers who have been injured, become ill, or lost their lives because of their work.

This day is about more than remembrance. It is also a reminder that workplace injury, illness, violence, and death continue to affect workers, families, and communities across Alberta.

Everyone deserves to be safe at work and to return home at the end of the day.

HSAA is marking the Day of Mourning by honouring those we have lost and calling for safer workplaces, stronger protections, and better support for workers.

Attend a Day of Mourning ceremony in your community and reflect on the importance of workplace health and safety.
