“I thought I wasn’t going to be able to play this year.”

Imagine being excited about a new season, looking forward to seeing your teammates and ready to learn something new…

…and then finding out your family can’t make the numbers work.

For some families, that’s the reality.

Not because the athlete doesn’t want to play.
Not because they aren’t committed.
Not because they don’t deserve the opportunity.

Sometimes, the cost is simply too much.

But then something changes.

A barrier is removed.
A registration becomes possible.
A uniform gets picked up.
And suddenly, they’re standing on the field, court, rink or gym with their teammates.

That first practice might look like just another practice to everyone else.

Animals have a pretty great way of reminding us about the simple things in life — play, connection, companionship and being part of something.
