BOYCOTT INDIGO – NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

This weekend we’re joining the Boycott Indigo Books National Day of Action to hold Indigo accountable for its role in funding genocide.

Meet at 1:15 PM in the Tim Hortons parking lot for a brief safety briefing. We will walk over together at 1:30 PM.

Why Indigo?

Every purchase at Indigo enriches CEO Heather Reisman, who uses company profits to fund the HESEG Foundation for Lone Soldiers, a "charity" that financially supports foreign nationals to serve in the Israeli military. At a time when Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing genocide, corporations and executives who aid this violence must be named and held accountable.

Indigo has chosen to silence public education efforts through lawsuits rather than end its complicity. As customers and community members, we refuse to be unwitting accomplices.

Boycotts work.

They are a non-violent tool for justice and have successfully pressured corporations to divest from human rights abuses before. This campaign calls for:
• Reisman and Schwartz to divest or step down
• The CRA to revoke HESEG’s charitable status
• An end to corporate complicity in genocide

This boycott is not antisemitic. It is supported by Jewish organizations and activists and targets actions, not identity.

Join us for our first protest of December. Hopefully it's warmer than last week, but regardless, we'll be out there.

The destruction in Southern Lebanon is devastating with entire neighbourhoods reduced to rubble, communities displaced, families grieving. It's as catastrophic as what we've seen in Gaza, and the world cannot look away. We need to raise awareness, amplify the voices of those affected, and demand an end to this violence!

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 🇵🇸

Tomorrow is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a day recognized by the UN to acknowledge the historic and ongoing struggle of Palestinians for freedom, land, and self-determination.

This date marks the 1947 UN Partition Plan, a colonial decision made without the consent of the Palestinian people. That plan paved the way for the Nakba, the mass displacement and dispossession of over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, and the ongoing system of occupation, apartheid, and violence that continues today.

Join us tomorrow for our weekly protest, as we gather in solidarity with Palestine and demand justice, liberation, and an end to the genocide. We will be protesting at our usual location, the Ross & Gaetz intersection (in front of the Stantec building) from 1:30 – 2:30 PM.

We’re sorry for the late notice. It’s been a busy week for our organizers, but your presence matters. Remember to dress warm and bring your keffiyehs, signs, friends, and your voice!

Today, we joined the Global Day of Action to boycott Chevron, and Red Deer showed up. 🇵🇸

Thank you to everyone who came out (in much better weather than earlier this year!) and added your voice to the growing call to end Chevron’s complicity in Israel’s genocide. We invite everyone to take action by signing the pledge below and learning more about this priority boycott campaign. Every signature strengthens the pressure!

Although the owner wasn’t present today, we’ll be reaching out soon. Our goal is to encourage them to switch to another brand, ask them to sign the franchise owner letter demanding Chevron end business in Israel, and invite them to display a sign denouncing Chevron’s actions and standing with Palestine. We believe in community conversation, and we’re committed to connecting with them directly.

Red Deer for Palestine is once again participating in The BDS Movement's Day of Action, a global call to action to for its role in the genocide of Palestinians.

Chevron is a major economic partner of the Israeli government and fuels its apartheid, military occupation, war crimes, and settler colonialism. Chevron also fuels environmental destruction and violence against indigenous communities all across the globe.

We invite you to join us at the Howarth Street Chevron in Red Deer this Saturday, November 22, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, to urge Chevron to stop supporting genocide and apartheid in Palestine and end its business with Israel.

According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Israeli forces have detained approximately one million Palestinians since 1967. Statistically, one out of every five Palestinians have been held captive at some point in their life.

Israel is not the only one profiting from this. Surveillance tech companies are directly involved in Israel's war crimes. , a contract between Israel, , and , provides the cloud platform for Israel's Al-powered genocide, including the mass abductions and torture of Palestinian hostages. In 2019, Israel's Ministry of Public Security announced a partnership with YouTube, also owned by Google, facilitating censorship and the removal of accounts that disproportionately silences Palestinian content creators, journalists, and activists.
