A warm welcome to the Cole Martin Band who is on the lineup for the Hootenanny on August 3! 🎶

Influenced heavily by his son and grandfather, Cole stays true to his roots and writes about real world experiences. His songs and performances are warm and relatable – everything we love about country music! 🤠

Born and raised in Innisfail, Alberta, the prairies and foothills have offered Cole many inspirations and opportunities to grow his unique sound. Combining a pure love for country music songwriting with banjo, pedal steel, fiddle, and melodic vocals, Cole’s work echoes the influence of Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, and Tyler Childers. Cole’s talent and genuine friendliness have won over fans and an expanding audience throughout Western Canada.

Say “hello” to the Brigadiers String Band: our first lineup for the Hootenanny on August 3! 🎶

An all-acoustic, Western Canadiana band from Alberta, the Brigadiers are made up of Sean Brewer (vocals, guitar, banjo), Darrek Anderson (vocals, mandolin, guitar), Braden Sustrik (stand-up bass), and Jake Coyes (guitar, vocals).

Their signature style has become synonymous with a diverse collection of original tunes and covers by favourite artists like Ian Tyson, Jimmy Martin, and Townes Van Zandt. This Country + Folk + Roots band is on the rise, and nothing can stop them from achieving their goal of one day opening up for Miley Cyrus!

A little behind-the-scenes for the setup of The Tree Planters exhibit by Rita Leistner! 🌳🪏

Montreal-based Photographer Rita Leistner knows the work of tree planters from the inside out. She spent a decade as a tree planter herself, putting over half a million trees in the ground before going on to a career as a photojournalist, and eventually returning to the forest with her camera. 📷

Stop by to see these stunning photographs in person and witness the true endurance, grit, and quiet heroism of the people doggedly helping our nature recover!

The Tree Planters by Rita Leistner is on at the MAG until August 22.
