The deadline is this Thursday to apply for our contract landscaping position!

We’re looking for a seasonal landscaper (contract)

The Bower Community Association is looking for someone to help maintain our outdoor spaces this summer.

Details:
• May – September
• $200/month flat rate
• Around 10 hours per month

What you’ll be doing:
• W**d whacking and pulling w**ds
• Picking up garbage and changing bins
• Trimming hedges at Bower Hall
• General upkeep at the Community Gardens

All equipment is provided (w**d whacker, leaf blower, hedge trimmer).

Preference will be given to youth and Bower community residents.

Did you know wearing cleats on sports fields too early can damage the grass and disrupt its growth cycle? This makes it harder to maintain strong, healthy turf all season long.

With the snow gone and sunshine here, we know it’s tempting to get back out on the fields and diamonds. But to keep them in top shape, please avoid using the fields, especially with cleats, until they officially open on May 1.

Thanks for doing your part to help us grow resilient, game-ready fields for everyone to enjoy all season long!

On April 16th, community members came together to share ideas and help shape the future of our garden expansion.

Thank you to Scott for presenting and leading the discussion, and to Donna for organizing the evening and helping spearhead this initiative alongside Scott to move the expansion forward. We also want to recognize Donna for all the work she’s put into running the community gardens over the past few years.

The proposed plan is to add 12 more garden boxes, a proper fence (and gate), and a shaded bench for the community to visit our gardens! We gathered input from attendees of the forum to understand community priorities and to open collaborative discussions.

🎨💛 Thanks so much to everyone who joined our 3–6 year old pottery classes on March 29 & 31! We loved seeing all the creativity (and messy hands 😄).
