What is mBC?
Metastatic breast cancer (mBC), or stage 4 breast cancer, is cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body – like the bones, the liver, the lungs, or the brain. Currently the 5-year survival rate for stage 4 breast cancer is only 23%.
While mBC is not curable, it is treatable – and people living with mBC deserve our support, awareness, and action.

On June 26, it was officially 100 days until the Run for the Cure, now we’re at 96 days and the countdown is on.

Our team is actively working behind the scenes to organize an incredible event and make this year’s run meaningful, smooth, and full of energy.

We’re excited to form teams, welcome participants, and come together as a community for an amazing day in support of a powerful cause.

We hope to see even more community support this year, let’s make this run our strongest yet!

Happy National Volunteer Week!

Our event would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of the breast cancer cause. Thanks to the commitment and passion of our volunteers, we continue to fund life-changing research and vital support programs for those impacted by breast cancer.
