Using the supportive properties of water, participants can work on strength, balance, coordination, mobility and overall fitness. Exercises are adapted for a range of abilities and can be completed at each participant’s own pace.

⏰ 10:15–11:00 a.m.
📍 G.H. Dawe Community Centre – Lane Pool

🧘 Wellness Tip Tuesday 🧘

Mindfulness doesn’t require a quiet room or lots of extra time. Try one of these simple techniques wherever you are:

🌿 Take five slow, intentional breaths.
👀 Notice five things you can see around you.
👂 Pause and listen for three different sounds.
🖐️ Pay attention to how your feet feel against the floor.
💭 Notice your thoughts without judging or trying to change them.

Even one mindful minute can help you pause, reconnect, and return to the present moment. Which technique will you try today? 💚

🌱 Motivation Monday 🌱

“Progress, not perfection.”

Growth doesn’t require us to get everything right. Every small step, lesson learned, and effort made moves us forward.

This week, focus on how far you’ve come—not how far you still have to go. 💚

🌿 Friday Reflection 🌿

As the week comes to an end, take a moment to pause and recognize your progress:

What is one thing you’re proud of accomplishing this week?

It might be something others would consider significant, or it could be a quiet accomplishment that only you fully understand—starting something new, completing a task, setting a boundary, asking for support, or simply making it through a challenging week.

Every step forward deserves to be acknowledged. 💚

Share your accomplishment in the comments, or take a private moment to celebrate it for yourself.

🌟 Community Resource Spotlight: The Lending Cupboard Society of Alberta -TLC

This week, Recovery College Central Alberta is proud to recognize the incredible work of The Lending Cupboard!

Based in Red Deer, The Lending Cupboard is a registered charity that provides free medical equipment and daily living aids to people throughout Central Alberta. Their support helps individuals return home safely after surgery, recover from injuries, maintain their independence, care for loved ones at home, and navigate end-of-life care with dignity.

With more than 16,000 items available, The Lending Cupboard supports over 1,100 clients each month across more than 54 municipalities. Equipment includes:

♿ Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and mobility supports
🛁 Bath chairs, commodes, toilet risers, and bathroom safety equipment
🏠 Bed rails, hydraulic lifts, specialized cushions, and transfer supports
👧 Pediatric equipment for children and youth

Their dedicated volunteers ensure equipment is cleaned, inspected, properly fitted, and adjusted for safe use. Delivery may also be available for individuals who cannot pick up or return equipment themselves.

Best of all, equipment is loaned free of charge, ensuring cost is never a barrier to receiving needed support.

As their motto says: “If you need it and we’ve got it, you can borrow it!”

A huge thank-you to The Lending Cupboard and its more than 120 volunteers for helping people across Central Alberta live with greater safety, independence, and dignity. 💙

🌿 Wellness Tip Tuesday 🌿

Five ways to recharge after a stressful day:

1️⃣ Pause and breathe
Take a few slow breaths and allow yourself a moment to settle.

2️⃣ Change your surroundings
Step outside, sit near a window, or move to a space that feels comfortable.

3️⃣ Do something you enjoy
Listen to music, read, create something, watch a favourite show, or spend time on a hobby.

4️⃣ Connect with someone supportive
Talk with a trusted friend or family member—even a short conversation can help you feel less alone.

5️⃣ Give yourself permission to rest
You don’t have to solve everything today. Rest is a valuable part of caring for yourself.

Recharging looks different for everyone. Choose what feels manageable and helpful for you. 💚

What helps you unwind after a stressful day?
