The Lions Club of Raymond has been a long time supporter of The Raymond 4-H Beef Club Once again, we look forward to celebrating with this group of exceptional young people and their families as they are recognized for their accomplishments.
Central to the 4-H program are four core values:
Head (managing, thinking)
Heart (relating, caring)
Hands (giving, working)
Health (being, living)
It is exciting for Lions to watch 4-H members become responsible, caring and contributing leaders, committed to positively impacting their communities.

Many of us have seen and/or heard a HALO Helicopter in the air over Raymond. Dedicated to servicing Southern Alberta and South West Saskatchewan, Helicopter Air Lift Operation (HALO) is actually headquartered in Medicine Hat.
Since July 2007, this medevac helicopter service has dispatched 550+ missions.
HALO also assists SE Alberta Search & Rescue (SEASAR) and the RCMP with search and rescue missions.
The Lions Club of Raymond is proud to join the private and corporate donors who support this very important service.

The Lions Club of Raymond honors our Veterans by ensuring all Raymond school children are given a Poppy to wear for Remembrance Day. This year we purchased 1500 Poppies from the General Stewart Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion, which will be handed out at Raymond Elementary School, Raymond Junior High School, Raymond High School and The Alternate School. Poppies are worn on the left side, over the heart, from the last Friday in October to November 11th. It is tradition to remove a Poppy at the conclusion of the Remembrance Day Service and respectfully place it on the Cenotaph or on a wreath.

Sadly, Raymond area families may feel the additional stress when a seriously ill child is receiving medical care in a hospital facility far from home.
Travel, lodging and meals can be a huge cost.
Ronald McDonald House provides a place that families can call home and remain close by their child at little or no cost.
The Lions Club of Raymond is proud to support RMHC Canada’s Ronald McDonald Houses in Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer.

Lions have a long history with STARS. The founder, Dr Greg Powell, is a long standing member of The Sherwood Park Lions Club.
The rotary air ambulance program was initially named ‘Lions Air Ambulance Service’, and flew it’s first mission transporting a premature baby from Lethbridge to Calgary on December 1st, 1985.
Legalities prevented The Lions from having their name attached to the medical service, so the name was changed to STARS (Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) in 1986.
In 1999, Alberta Lions also helped establish the Human Patient Simulator (HPS), a mobile training program which benefits rural health care.
The Lions Club of Raymond proudly supports STARS and the over 42,000 missions flown in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba since 1985.

Did you know that the Lions Club of Raymond helps people see better by recycling your old eyeglasses?
The Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre (CLERC) distribution facility is located in NE Calgary. Here, Lion volunteers sanitize and sort donated eye glasses before the prescription is read and the glasses are boxed up and sent off to aid the vision impaired around the world.
As of September 2019, over 5.5 million glasses had been distributed to over 80 countries.
You can find Lions eyeglass recycling boxes in medical clinics, optometrist offices, eyewear dispensaries, funeral homes and various retailers throughout Lethbridge.
We are grateful to local Pharmacist, Todd Snow, for providing space for our Raymond Lions Eyeglass collection box at Snow’s Pharmacy.
Please drop off any used prescription eyeglasses (without the cases) in the collection box inside the main doors. FYI...Lions also accepts used hearing aids.
