Atlantic Canada Fibreshed

Atlantic Canada Fibreshed The Fibershed community was initially established to manage local resources and to create permanent

In 2010 out there in California, Rebecca Burgess had a brilliant idea. She wanted to create an entire wardrobe sourced from a cozy little intimate geography, one right up close and personal. She decided her 'region' would be 150 miles from where she set up shop. She gathered about like minded folk who raised the animals, grew the plants to dye the fibres, processed those fibres to the yarn stage

& then wove them into fabric she would wear. Her earth friendly project illuminated the economic benefit to bringing 'home' many aspects of the textile supply chain.

New yarn alert!!
Some of alpaca yarns have been spun and I've mostly got them labelled. They're GORGEOUS.
more nylon in dk weight in brown, a gorgeous honey and a shockingly pretty natural grey.
We've also got 100% alpaca in natural chocolate brown and the most luxurious gun metal grey.
On top of that, we now have black, grey and white lopi!!
I'll be photographing and listing things online Monday. ❤️ love squishy mail!!
