Tonight was our Farewell/ Welcome ceremony during Quesnel's council meeting. Mayor Paull and councilor McKelvie presented Ociah Woodruff and Grace Cassidy with plaques of recognition for their year of service.Then our 2026 Ambasssdors, Abigail Russell and Nora Aziz were welcomed.

Our 2026 Ambassadors Abigail and Nora were back in Lebourdais Park this Friday. The Foundry Quesnel hosted Summer's Last Slide which had games, music, dancing, food and fun for everyone.The giant Slip and Slide is always a hit but there was so much more to do including the Bouncy Slide, that Abigail and Nora managed. Thanks to all the supporters, business sponsors, and staff that made the day so incredible.

Ambassadors Nora and Abigail had a great time at the International Festival held at Kosta's Cove. They assisted with the distruction of two piñata, and the scavenger hunt. It was a perfect day to enjoy cultures from around the world including so many food options, music and dance. Thank you to Camila and Claudia for hosting a wonderful new event for Quesnel.

Ambassdor Nora celebrated her 17th birthday today, and she found time to join Abigail at The Mix@6. They listened to the band and handed out shopping coupons to lucky audience members. Thank you to the Quesnel Downtown Business Association.This has become a regular part of Thursday night here in Quesnel.

On International Youth Day the Ambassador Society recongizes Quesnel youth leaders, including our candidates and ambassadors. The United Nations recognizes that youth from all over the world have similar goals of being treated with dignity, and living in a sustainable world.

Ambassador Abigail attended the Quesnel Art Gallery and met artist Adele Fussi. This artist is inspired by her Cree heritage and her ancestor, Louis Reil. He said,"My people will sleep for 100 years, but when they awaken, it will be the artist who will give their spirit back." Visit the gallery to enjoy her paintings until September 2nd.

Abigail was glad to have 2024 Ambasssdor Jayla join her for the Billy Barker Days Alumni Appreciation and the Rodeo. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this a wonderful Billy Barker Days. Watch out Quesnel, 2026 Ambassador Nora will be back in Canada soon and making appearances at The Mix@6.
