Had a great time at the Business Excellence Awards last night! We came up short in the "Business of the Year (over 5 employees) category, but would like to congratulate Service Electric on the W.

Also congratulations to the rest of the nominees and winners in all categories. It is great to see so many local businesses being recognized and rewarded for their contributions to our community.

50 years. 50 years of stories. ❤️

Throwing it back to August 24, 1997!

Nearly 30 years ago, the Quesnel Cariboo Observer ran an article titled “Merchants help make Quesnel a great place to live.”

And nearly three decades later, that message still rings true.

Our downtown has always been more than a collection of storefronts. It's a community of hardworking business owners, neighbours, and people who genuinely care about the place we call home.

Since those early days, we've always made an effort to have representation on the Quesnel Downtown Association board, and that commitment continues today. Not because we have to, but because we genuinely care about the future of our downtown. ❤️

Businesses have come and gone, storefronts have changed, and downtown has evolved. But one thing hasn't changed: when downtown thrives, Quesnel thrives. ✨️

Here's to the merchants who came before us, the ones investing their hearts into downtown today, and the generations who will carry it forward.

Because a strong downtown doesn't happen by accident. It happens when people care enough to show up.
