It is with deep sorrow that the Canadian Rohingya Society Quebec (CRSQ) expresses our condolences to the family of Nurul Amin Shah Alam. We are heartbroken by his untimely passing, and our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this incredibly painful time.
Nurul Amin Shah Alam was more than just a member of his family; he was a part of a larger community that has endured unimaginable suffering.
As a Rohingya man, his life was marked by years of hardship, from the violence and persecution in Myanmar to the uncertain life of a refugee. The Rohingya people have been forced to flee their homeland, living in camps, facing dangerous journeys, and experiencing separation from loved ones, all while struggling to rebuild lives in unfamiliar places.
Even through all this hardship, the Rohingya people continue to show incredible strength, resilience, and unity. Our community has faced enormous pain, yet we hold onto hope and the belief that one day justice will prevail. This strength comes from our shared history and the bonds that unite us, even in the face of unimaginable odds.
Nurul Amin’s death, however, is a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities refugees face, especially when they are abandoned or mistreated by those who are supposed to help them. His death should never have happened. We ask for justice, not just for Nurul Amin Shah Alam, but for every Rohingya refugee who has been failed by the systems meant to protect them. The agents responsible for leaving him stranded, far from safety, must be held accountable. We must not allow this kind of neglect to continue.
No one fleeing violence should ever be left in such a position. The international community must take action to ensure that refugees are treated with dignity, care, and respect. We will not remain silent until justice is served for Nurul Amin Shah Alam and for all those who have suffered similar fates.
We stand with his family, with the Rohingya people, and with all refugees around the world who are fighting for justice and human rights. We will keep raising our voices until the world listens and changes are made.
May Allah grant Nurul Amin Shah Alam eternal peace and mercy. We pray that his family finds strength, comfort, and healing in the days ahead. With heartfelt sympathy, and with a continued commitment to justice,
Canadian Rohingya Society Quebec (CRSQ)
