We were pleased to meet with Alex Boissonneault, député d'Arthabaska-L'Érable and the Parti Québécois's designated spokesperson for English-speaking Quebecers, alongside two of our member organizations, Case-Mcq and MCDC. The discussion focused on the key challenges facing English-speaking communities in the regions, as well as potential solutions and opportunities for collaboration. We are looking forward to meeting again soon to continue our discussions.

La rencontre a porté sur les principaux défis auxquels sont confrontées les communautés d’expression anglaise en région, ainsi que sur des pistes de solutions et des possibilités de collaboration. There is an online Lunch & Learn about the storytelling app EnRoute this Wednesday, May 27, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. This event will be geared to writers, artists, and artisans interested in writing stories about English-speaking regional communities in Québec to be shared on the app.

EnRoute is a bilingual storytelling app developed by the Regional Development Network to connect locals and tourists with the artists, places, and landmarks at the heart of Québec’s cultural heritage. Come find out how this exciting new project will showcase artists contributing to Québec’s flourishing cultural landscape!

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the General Manager, the Youth & Education Coordinator will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the Morrin Centre’s educational and youth programming. They will oversee school tours as well as activities for youth and families, and will work closely with the team to integrate the educational component into the Centre’s broader programming.

This is a full-time position including some evening and weekend work.

Yesterday, Rachel Hunting facilitated a workshop with CASA - Committee for Anglophone Social Action's staff in New Carlisle on best practices for reporting on impact and framing results. She also spent some time with CASA's board while she was there. This is a part of our Leadership, Empowerment and Development (LEAD) program that strengthens community capacity.

Completing the census is required by law, and the data collected is incredibly important. As part of our work to strengthen community capacity through the Leadership, Empowerment and Development (LEAD) program, the team was back on the road this week — this time facilitating a team-building workshop and board governance training with Coasters Association Inc.

While in the region, RDN’s team also had the opportunity to meet with local mayors, Daren Jones - préfet / Warden, MRC GSL, and representatives from the Municipality of Bonne-Espérance and the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent. Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit both productive and rewarding.
