L’exceptionnelle chanteuse, compositrice et improvisatrice Sarah Rossy a offert un atelier vraiment unique à l’Université Laval, invitant les étudiants à improviser et à libérer leur esprit à travers la pratique de la performance musicale.

L’Institut canadien du jazz est fier de souligner la participation de l’ensemble des étudiants et de féliciter officiellement les lauréats du tout premier Prix Gabriel Hamel, une bourse de 5 000 $ remise dans le cadre du concours de musique de chambre jazz de l’Université Laval.

Ce nouveau prix vise à encourager l’excellence artistique, l’engagement et l’innovation au sein de la relève jazz canadienne. Par cette initiative, l’Institut canadien du jazz souhaite soutenir le développement des jeunes musiciens et mettre en lumière leur talent exceptionnel.

L’Institut adresse ses plus sincères félicitations aux gagnants ainsi qu’à tous les participants qui ont contribué à la qualité et au dynamisme de cette édition.

The Canadian Institute of Jazz is proud to recognize the participation of all students and to officially congratulate the recipients of the inaugural Gabriel Hamel Award, a $5,000 scholarship presented as part of Université Laval’s Jazz Chamber Music Competition.

This new award aims to promote artistic excellence, commitment, and innovation among the next generation of Canadian jazz musicians. Through this initiative, the Canadian Institute of Jazz seeks to support the development of young artists and highlight their exceptional talent.

The Institute extends its sincere congratulations to the award recipients as well as to all participants who contributed to the quality and vitality of this edition.

Outstanding bassist and composer Levi Dover gave a workshop on November 17 at Laval University’s Faculty of Music. He shared insights into his personal approach to contemporary jazz composition and improvisation.
