At Pikogan powwow, there were FOUR of us representing different communities, coming from ALL different leadership initiatives/pageants!

It’s amazing to see the uprise of these initiatives. Even better to see our communities’ Queens & Princesses honoured in the powwow circle. 🪶

I’m lucky that my Miss Indigenous Canada Delegacy leads me to these ladies 👑

My moccasins are in two communities, this is my urban community 🥹

We gathered as a diverse group of urban-living Indigenous peoples to connect over food, fancy shawl & jingle dancing, charity fundraising and of course… Scrunchies!!

Thank you for making this charity fundraising event come to life!

We surpassed my goal of fundraising $400 for Sunshine House , an Indigenous & 2SLGBTQIA+ harm reduction Initiative 🫶🏼🩷

(A shoutout to my creative student, Shiloh, who donated her time & talent to create personal caricatures of the guests. You’re the best!!)

I’m at a lack of words for how intensely grateful I am for both scrunchie releases so far. We almost sold out AGAIN! Now, time for the final online release ☺️ (mark your calendars for June 12th!)

-Mīgwetch to Maniwaki Native Friendship Center for accommodating us
-Mīgwetch to Kokom Scrunchies for the on-going support & leadership
-Mīgwetch to my students for performing the opening dances ⭐️

A limited set designed by Anishnabe artist (Destiny Cote), created by an Anishnabe business (Kokom Scrunchies) to help support an Anishnabe ambassador 🤎 Couldn’t ask for more.

I hope you all love this product as much as we do! We put love and intention into it.

Not only does this help support my Miss Indigenous Canada journey, part of the proceeds will go towards the MIC charity, the Sunshine House!

You will be helping two causes and look like “Rez Royalty” doing it!
