The Quadra Island Emergency Program comprises a number of volunteer teams that prepare for and respond to significant emergencies on Quadra Island. Working with local fire, police and ambulance services, and under the direction of the Strathcona Regional District's Emergency Preparedness Program and Emergency Management BC, the Quadra Island Emergency Program ensures the island is able to effectiv

ely respond to emergencies such as fires, floods, earthquakes and other disasters. The primary components of the Quadra Island Emergency Program are:
- Emergency Support Services
- Emergency Communications
- Departmental Operations Centre
- Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program

The purpose of SRD’s Preparing for Wildfire resource guide is to help you to prepare your household, protect your property, and understand what to do if a wildfire is close to your community. The guide provides you with information applicable to every SRD community such as alerting mechanisms, door-to-door notifications, Emergency Support Services, how Evacuation Orders are made, insurance and impacts of smoke.
