🎉 RECORD-BREAKING COMMUNITY DONATIONS! 🎉

The Parksville Beach Festival Society is proud to share a record-breaking $89,270 with 24 local organizations and community partners whose volunteers helped make the 2026 Quality Foods Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition a success!

This summer, 119,480 visitors came to admire 23 incredible sand sculptures, while our amazing Gate Ambassador volunteers contributed nearly 3,200 hours of their time to welcome guests, answer questions and help create a memorable experience for everyone.

These donations support the valuable community programs and initiatives delivered by these not-for-profit groups throughout the Oceanside region, recognizing the dedication and generosity of the volunteers who give their time to make a positive difference in our community.

Since 1999, the Parksville Beach Festival Society has donated more than $1.2 million to local non-profit organizations and community initiatives!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all 24 participating organizations, our dedicated volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Your commitment and community spirit help make the festival so much more than a summer event.

Please come visit our table on Fri Oct 9th at the Aging Well Oceanside event from 10am-1pm at the The Bradley Centre. We will be there along with our RCMP partners providing information on the safety programs we provide. Of particular interest to our senior community is the Keeping In Touch program, a daily wellness phone check-in for seniors living alone. We will also have information on senior safety and fraud and mobility scooter security registration.

Community programs, workshops, and gatherings, plus a hall, kitchen, and studio you can rent. A registered charity at 975 Shearme Road. Everyone welcome.

What a fantastic day at the recent SOS Volunteer Recruitment Fair, where Oceanside Community Safety Volunteers (OCSV) had the opportunity to connect with so many people interested in making a difference in our community! 💙

Pictured are Gordon, Events & Traffic Watch Team Lead and Kelly, one of our dedicated volunteers, who spent the event welcoming and chatting with prospective volunteers about the many ways they can get involved.

OCSV volunteers work in partnership with the Oceanside RCMP, ICBC, and local community partners to support public safety and crime prevention throughout Oceanside. Our programs include Traffic Watch, Block Watch, Keeping in Touch (KIT), Community events, Project 529 bike and mobility device registration; and other crime-prevention and public-safety initiatives.

Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for an opportunity to become more involved in your community, there may be a place for you on the OCSV team! Volunteers receive orientation and training and work alongside fellow community-minded people to help make Oceanside a safer place.
