Qu'Appelle Fire and Rescue

Dedicated to the exceptional men and women who protect our Saskatchewan community in the event of fire, disaster, and other life-threatening emergencies.

Qu'Appelle Fire and Rescue is comprised of men and women who look to help the people of Qu'Appelle and the surrounding rural municipality in their time of need. Our Medical First Responders is also contained within the department. The Department meets every month on the first Thursday to train and hone their skills in the various areas of fire rescue and first aid. Joining the department is an eas

y task. Show up at the fire hall on the first Thursday of the month. The Junior Firefighter program starts at age 15. The Fire Hall is located adjacent to the Town Shop at 8 St. George Street.

For those whom may have been wondering about the lights and the sirens earlier. Today was our yearly Senior center fire drill and we would like to extend our thanks to the Greenwood Manor for once again partaking in this yearly event, we would also like to sincerely thank them for the barbecue they put on for us, which was a nice surprise and very much appreciated by the members of the department.

We send our best hopes and wishes and prayers to those that were injured in Melville we hope for your speedy recovery, And for the officer in Montreal, Our deepest condolences to family and friends. We all wish for the day when such violence can be no more but until that day we stand prepared and ready, And we pray for those that sacrifice all in the line of duty.

Happy sports day everybody! We hope to see you all down at the parade, Later on just after lunch at 12:30 we are going to do a Jaws of life demonstration, The demonstration will take place next to the beer gardens so come on down. Grab a burger. Enjoy a drink, and enjoy the show. We will also be happy to answer any questions about any of our tools that we use or about what it's like to be a part of the emergency services. Yesterday on June 3rd some of you might have noticed the trucks out around the sports grounds, we had decided for our training day to pull the trucks out, run the pumps and get some water flowing both to test the pumps to make sure they were in great working and condition as well as familiarizing ourselves with the trucks and their systems, And although we have good knowledge with how the pumps operate. It's always good to stay in practice as The old saying goes practice makes perfect.
