The Erris Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the UBCM CEPF (Community Emergency Preparedness Fund) for their generous support in helping our department upgrade our Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with MSA G1 (4500psi) air packs.

The $40,000 of funding provided through this grant allowed us to purchase 5 SCBA packs, 10 bottles, and 15 face pieces.

On behalf of all of the EVFD firefighters, THANK YOUR SUPPORT!

The FREE ice cream drive thru was a great success! Thanks to our neighbours, young and old, who came for a cool treat and a visit.

It was great to see new pickleballers on the courts too! FYI: one net will stay set up and a few balls will be left at the court over the summer so bring a paddle ($15 at Canadian Tire) and play!

Just a gentle reminder to please not park in front of the fire hall. In the event that Erris is dispatched, our apparatus needs clear exit from the hall to the road.

Watch the Erris Volunteer Fire Association page and the sandwich board for the next FREE drive thru date in a few weeks!

On Wednesday May 6th, Erris Firefighters participated in the Emergency Preparedness event at ChuChuwayha Hall .

This well attended event was hosted by the Town of Princeton and Upper Similkameen Indian Band.

Our firefighters chatted to the public about preparing for wildfire and gave truck tours to the little’s.

Even Ember came by to say HI!

EVFA Potluck and AGM April 18 2026 in Review

The Erris Volunteer Fire Association wrapped up 2025 with a very well attended Annual General Meeting last Saturday night.

Many thanks to the 44 residents and guests who attended representing 26 properties. This was our best turnout ever.

We enjoyed a wonderful potluck dinner before the meeting and what a spread! Savoury and sweet, hot and cold - we had it all and thank you to all who contributed to the table.

The AGM followed an agenda to cover operations, financial reports, and accomplishments of the past year. The details of the EVFA Strategic Plan were shared with the members. This plan clearly lays out our purpose, vision, mission and specific priorities for the coming years. Thank you to the leadership team who invested their time to put this together.

There was a Member's Proposal put forward with 3 motions. After discussion one was withdrawn and two were defeated.

Elections for the positions of VP, Treasurer and 3 Directors found the incumbents letting their names stand and they were all re-elected by acclamation for another term.

Thank you to everyone who came out to take part in the AGM - your commitment and participation in the process is very appreciated.

Don't forget about the EVFA's Annual General Meeting on Saturday, April 18th.
