Kids for Cameras is is an awesome initiative developed to encourage kids to take photographs and share. It brings people together and allows them to create art and see life from other points of view. Our immediate goals:
-To gather cameras from the community.
-Use those cameras to encourage youth to gain the required skills to build a unique portfolio of digital pictures.
-To offer a free, enric
hing, and valuable crash course in culture to as many youth as are interested
-To empower young Rupertites to widen their perspective, express themselves in a supportive environment, and influence our future positively. So far the program has helped young people learn to use cameras, find direction, and achieve success. We plan to branch outwards and offer the program to as many Edmonton youth as are interested. This helps them by providing the means to create which, in turn, develops culture and brightens our cities future. There is an excess of technology readily available in a time where digital media is prevalent in our society. Our ultimate goals:
To become a complete institution that is a perpetually evolving, self-sustainable, and community driven non-profit organization. Growth in terms of resources, personnel, student involvement, outside interest, and quality of education.
