For over 25 years, local volunteers with the Prince Rupert Special Events Society have staged dazzling fireworks displays for Canada Day, Winterfest, and Halloween Fest.
But it’s not just the sparks that make the shows special; it’s the people and partnerships behind them.
From barge launches in the harbour (thanks to Wainwright Marine) to storage and transport (props to Bandstra), and to the crew members who train to become certified fireworks techs, it’s a true community, full-circle local effort.
“It is clear that we would not have the size or quality of fireworks shows in Prince Rupert without such a high level of community support,” said Jim Martin, a long-time volunteer fireworks crew member.
