The Post-Secondary Fund supports post-secondary students who demonstrate strong academic potential, financial need, and a commitment to contributing to their community. The fund provides direct financial assistance, mentorship opportunities, and access to professional development resources to help students thrive throughout their studies. Financial support is to reward academic success, offset living expenses, tuition, books, housing, transportation, food and childcare.

The goal is simple: reward high achievers, make education more affordable and help you succeed.

This program introduces the principles and practices of entrepreneurship tailored for Indigenous learners. It is fully funded if you apply and meet the eligibility requirements.

Gitga'at Park Derochie Industrial Services Incorporated is one of GDC's joint venture partnerships.

Last year, we won a Contractor of the Year Award of Excellence for our work on the Old Skeena Bridge Rehabilitation project.

The Old Skeena Bridge is almost 100 years old and holds deep historical and cultural significance for the Gitga'at people. After the project started, we faced a significant increase in the project scope. Despite the added workload, the project reached completion four months early.

Aligned with Gitga'at values, Gitga'at Park Derochie Industrial Services went above and beyond to protect the surrounding natural habitat, including the fish-bearing river under the bridge.

The communication behind this project drove its success and helped exceed expectations.

The Old Skeena Bridge now stands stronger than ever, preserved for those who use it today and in the future.

In 2019, Gitga'at Development Corporation and Waiward Industrial formed a joint partnership, Gitga'at Waiward Industrial Ltd. The partnership offers a full range of construction, maintenance, fabrication, and engineering services for infrastructure projects in Northern BC.

Together, we're working on the LNG Canada Facility in Kitimat, BC. The scope of the work is extensive, from routine and non-routine maintenance to major maintenance, site modifications, and turnaround/shutdown work.

One of the most important aspects of our partnership is the emphasis we place on community representation. We believe that a diverse and inclusive team is key to our success, and we are committed to ensuring that the Gitga'at community is well-represented in our workforce.

Camosun College is committed to Indigenous education and partnering with Indigenous communities.

The college recently announced two new tuition-free programs to help break down barriers for women and Indigenous peoples in the tech industry.

The programs include civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering and computer sciences opportunities. They will create 36 new seats specifically for women and Indigenous people, enabling them to pursue sustainable, well-paying careers.

With only 16.4% of newly licensed engineers being women and Indigenous peoples holding less than 1% of B.C.'s tech sector jobs, these programs will help bridge the gap and empower women and Indigenous communities in the tech industry.
