June is Pride Month. Let’s take this time to celebrate our 2SLGBTQQIA+ relatives and the strength that comes from being together. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💙

Gathering remains a powerful act. It connects us to one another, restores our Spirits, and grounds us in who we are.

We're sharing some wonderful events happening this summer. We encourage you to gather, connect, and continue building spaces where everyone can live authentically:

Over the past year or so, the Indigenous Relations Committee for the City, in partnership with Kxeen Community Services, has been developing a list of priorities and actions to help guide our local government in making our services and programs more culturally aware and inclusive.

We have attended and sponsored numerous events and issued a survey with over 150 responses, and we're now bringing back the result of community input and feedback to residents in the form of an Action Plan to guide our next steps.

Thank you to everyone who has engaged with us already. We are so grateful for the thoughtful responses, and we hope that you can see your input reflected in the Draft Plan.

The Draft Reconciliation Action Plan is now complete and available for review, here: https://engage.princerupert.ca/reconciliation-planning, and we will have copies at this Open House event. Following additional community feedback, it will be coming to Council in the summer of 2026 for final consideration.

We hope that you will join us at the Library on Wednesday, June 3rd from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be available.
