Solaris: Lakeside day camp for youth aged 7-12; runs Monday through Friday 8:15-4:45
Polaris: Lakeside day camp for special needs aged 13-18 that focuses on inclusion; runs Monday through Friday 8:15-4:45
Aurora: Leadership based initiative for youth aged 13-15 that includes an out-trip to exciting locations such as Mount Robson and Carp Lake; runs Monday through Friday
Borealis: Leadership based apprenticeship program for youth aged 15-17; runs Monday through Friday 8:15- 4:45

Why Are They Swimming?

Because some of their best camp memories started on the water.

The camp waterfront was a place of adventure, friendship, challenge, and discovery.

Years later, a group of camp alumni—including Paralympic medalist Donovan Tildesley—are returning to the water to help other children experience those same opportunities.

Because when barriers are removed, children discover confidence, belonging, and potential they can carry for life.

From Camp Waterfront to Channel Crossing

Years ago, three campers spent their summers swimming, paddling, and making memories at camp.

This week, they're swimming across the Thornbrough Channel, from Gambier Island to Camp Elphinstone, to help send more kids to camp.

Among the swimmers is Donovan Tildesley—Paralympic medalist, former Canadian Paralympic flag bearer, and world-record-holding swimmer. But before those achievements, he was a camper building confidence, connection, and a love of the water.

Now, he and a group of camp alumni are making waves so more children can discover what's possible.
