We are a non-profit organization offering 24-hour safe space for all self-identifying women in Northern British Columbia.

We provide community resources information, volunteer programs, educational workshops, campaigns, and referrals.

The Northern Women's Centre and its collective invite all self-identifying women to the "I am Jane Doe" peaceful rally. Allies are welcome to observe the rally from the sidelines.

This is a solidarity march for all the Jane Doe's out there in every corner of the world. We hear you, we believe you and we are with you.

Reconciliation is incomplete without recognizing and calling out blatant displays of hate, bigotry, and intolerance. The Northern Women's Centre condemns the shameful act of Residential school denialism that took place on the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc territory.

We call upon all allies to show support for your local Indigenous communities.
People of Lheidli T'enneh/Prince George are encouraged to attend the TRC events taking place at the Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park 12 pm onwards. Show up, show support.
Today, we wear orange not only to remember, but to affirm that Every Child Matters. 🧡

Do you have a blog, essay, or research you want to showcase?

We at the NWC would like to give women and q***r scholars a platform to showcase where they can show off their work to their fellow UNBC students and colleagues and community members!

Email us a copy of your publication or work at [email protected], or feel free to drop one off at the centre. We are located near the UNBC security office and right next door to Good Earth Cafe. If no one is minding the desk at the centre, please feel free to leave a copy there, and someone will put it out for you. :)

We would also like to offer the opportunity to be featured on a poster showcased at the centre, as well as on an Instagram post promoting your achievements!

Please email us if you are interested in being featured in a social media post and/or on a poster displayed at the front of the Women's centre, and we can discuss the details.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, let’s join together to actively change the narrative surrounding su***de. A culture of silence, stigma and shame needs to be replaced with open, honest, and supportive discussions. Let’s build compassionate communities where everyone feels entirely safe to speak up and seek help.

The Northern Women's Centre is pleased to announce the Aunties Mentorship Project.

Rooted in heritage and guided by kinship, this project connects Métis and other Indigenous youth from UNBC and CNC with experienced mentors to share knowledge, culture and foster community resilience.

The Northern Women's Centre is looking for a part-time program coordinator*. This is a temporary position with a possibility of extension. In this role, you won't just coordinate operations; you'll help foster spaces grounded in equity, care, and intersectional advocacy.

The AGM for the Northern Women's Centre will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Northern Women's Centre space on the UNBC campus. There is also an online option of joining the meeting
