Kiwanis Prince George is part of a global organization dedicated to serving the children of the world and improving our community of Prince George. Kiwanis (meaning “we trade” or “we share our talents”) is a non-profit volunteer community service organ

ization with a long history since its founding in Prince George in 1954. The 30+ members of working and retired business professionals meet twice monthly on Wednesdays from 12noon-1pm at the Twisted Cork Restaurant. We also hold fun socials events, fundraisers and take on community service initiatives. Over the years, Kiwanis has held a number of fundraisers to benefit charities and legacy projects such as golf tournaments, bingos and community dinners. We've also built the Kiwanis Bandshell in Fort George Park, Kiwanis Picnic Area in Cottonwood Island Park and the Kiwanis Resource Centre in downtown Prince George. The local club is going through a youth-oriented rejuvenation hosting new social events and annual fundraisers such as our Kiwanis at Canada Day in the Park and Kiwanis AleFest craft beer tasting festival. Kiwanis Prince George is part of Kiwanis International founded in 1915 by business professionals and now represents nearly 600,000 members worldwide. Kiwanis is one of the "big three" global community service organizations, the others being Rotary and Lions. While all three are service-oriented, each has a different approach, focus and culture. 📆 September 2nd - Kiwanis Member Lunch
Join us for our first lunch back from summer break and catch up with fellow members! Plus, hear from Holly (Regional Ambassador at WeBC) about how they're supporting women entrepreneurs in our region, and some upcoming business opportunities.

📆 September 15th - New Members Event
Interested in learning about Kiwanis Prince George? Join us at Deadfall Brewing between 5 and 6:30 for an introduction to the Kiwanis Club of Prince George, and enjoy networking and socialization over craft beers (first one on us!). Come and meet our members, learn what we're all about!

📆 September 21st - Kiwanis AleFest Planning Meeting
We're kicking off Kiwanis AleFest 2027 with our first planning committee meeting - and we're looking for new people to join the group to help plan this year's event! If you love Kiwanis AleFest, craft beer, or giving back to the community - we'd love to have you join.

📆 September 24th - Raise a Reader - Volunteer Event
We're participating in Raise a Reader again this year! Stay tuned to our memberday portal for information and to sign up to volunteer for this event.

We've opened up another round of funding this fall for our 2026 Grant Applications!

The Kiwanis Club of Prince George’s Grant Program is designed to support local non-profit organizations in creating equitable access to experiences for children/youth, with priorities to overcome socioeconomic or other barriers, and to support existing programs and services in Prince George.

● Amount available: Up to $5,000
● Deadline for submission: October 23, 2026
● Awards announcement: November 17, 2026

Last week we had the privilege of handing out grant funds to these incredible local organizations doing meaningful work for children and youth in our community.

🐺 UNBC Timberwolves – Run as One youth program, bringing basketball and soccer skills development to school-aged kids across School District 57, led by Timberwolves student-athletes who are making a real difference as role models in our community.

🎃 Huble Homestead Historic Site – The Halloween Spooktacular, a beloved family-friendly autumn event held at the Huble Homestead Historic Site that brings pumpkin carving, magic shows, and loads of Halloween fun to kids and families each year.

🚵 Intersect Youth & Family Services Society and Family Services – Youth development programs including their Switchback Mountain Bike Program and Supporting Spirit community collaboration, both focused on building life skills, resilience, and connection through sport and culture.

🤝 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC – Group mentoring programs that connect young people with caring volunteer role models through shared activities and experiences.

We're proud to announce our 2026 grant recipients!

🎉Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Prince George awards grant funding to local organizations doing meaningful work for children and youth in our community. This year, our club is proud to support:

Thank you to the incredible speakers from UNBC's Spark Lab who presented at our Kiwanis Members Lunch on Wednesday!

🧬 👩🏻‍🔬 We got to hear all about some of the amazing projects and innovations that the Spark Lab is working on. Plus - after lunch, our members were able to walk across the street to the Wood Innovation and Design Centre for a tour of the lab in person! 🔬 🥼

The Spark Lab is UNBC's innovative hub for fostering creativity, collaboration, and impactful action. Their mission is to provide a dynamic space where ideas transform into innovative solutions.

What a weekend! Our team brought home 3rd place at the Chilli Cook-Off, and all for a great cause! 🌶️ 🏆 Every dollar raised from this event goes to the Prince George Potters Guild.

Big thanks to all our club volunteers who both took the time to make the prize-winning chilli, and served it up for the hundreds of attendees who showed up to this fun event!

🌶️ The Kiwanis Club of Prince George is excited to be participating in the 50th Annual Chili Cook Off in support of the Prince George Potters’ Guild! 🎉

Join us on Saturday, May 30 from 11AM–2PM at the Prince George Playhouse for a fun afternoon of amazing chili, community spirit, and celebrating 50 years of local artistry.

We’re proud to be part of such a great event alongside so many incredible community teams and sponsors. Be sure to come by, sample some delicious chili, support local potters, and vote for your favourite! ❤️🔥

Our next Kiwanis Members Lunch is happening on June 3rd and will feature a presentation from students of UNBC's Spark Lab! 🧬 👩🏻‍🔬 After lunch, there will be an option to walk across the street to see the lab in person! 🔬 🥼

Today, the Kiwanis Club of Prince George held its Annual General Meeting at the Twisted Cork.

Members received reports from our president, treasurer, and secretary, and voted in a new board of directors, effective October 2026. We also presented some official membership certificates to some of our newer members!

We're grateful to the outgoing board members for their service and dedication to our community, and we look forward to the contributions our incoming board will bring!
