The PG Elizabeth Fry Society's Baby's New Beginnings program is designed to offer support to at-risk pregnant and postpartum women by providing nutrition info, peer & group connections, pre & post natal support, and community resource referrals Our program offers a safe, non-judgmental place to feel connected and empowered while accessing support to promote the wellbeing of mom and baby in pregnan

September is the most popular Birthday Month! Perhaps this is because most babies born in September are conceived in the very cold Month of December or early January.
September babies are either Virgos or Libras.
Babies born between Sept 1st and Sept 22nd are Virgos. Virgos truly are the smarty pants. Little walking encyclopedias constantly gathering and sharing information. The end of summer is upon us and the return to school is just around the corner. It's a busy time of year as we wind down our lazy summer days, putting away our flip-flops and beach towels and winding up for the busy Back to School routines of packing lunches, early to bed and early to rise.
I see the trees starting to run out of the energy they stored for the summer as their colour dulls and we prepare for the crisp and colourful transition from Summer to Fall. The Farmer's Market is overflowing with fresh seasonal produce, there is an evening chill in the air and even a Autumn smell as the days are just starting to be noticeably shorter especially in the mornings when the sun takes longer to wake up. Embrace the joy that summer brought us and make way for the gifts of Autumn. We will welcome the first day of Fall this year on September 22.
There are 2 Statutory Holidays in September to which we will be CLOSED; Labour Day on Monday, September 7th and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation on Wednesday, September 30th.

Summer is blitzing right past us and I'm having a hard time believing that we are preparing to bid farewell to July to make room for August.
August is our official last full month of the Summer. The days of August are toasty warm still but we will start to notice the evenings getting cooler as we go through the month. We work hard to squeeze in the last weeks of summer holidays with the kids all while excitedly planning for their return to school and the back to school routine. I always enjoy the days of summer with my children but I really do love the routine of back to school and maybe regaining some of my sanity back after the kids head off to school too. Summer can be a whirl wind.
In Prince George we celebrate our yearly BCNE Fair (Aug 13- Aug 16 this year). I don't know about you but I love going to the fair. The sights, the sounds and the yummy food. It is something I enjoy with my family every year. There are other random celebrations on the August calendar such as National Watermelon Day (Aug 3), National S'mores Day (Aug 10) and World Honey Bee Day (Aug 20), just to name a few.
So as we approach our final full month of Summer, find some time to enjoy the Warm Sunshine, Dance in the Rain, or anything that helps you enjoy the Season before life gets serious again.

Welcome to the month of July and the Dog Days of Summer. July is the second month of summer, typically the warmest month of the year and it also mark's that we are halfway through the year. July 5th, 1946 the fist bikini was unveiled at a poolside fashion show. July also hosts some delicious national days such as National Hot Dog Day, National Watermelon Day and let's not forget to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. These national celebrations come from our neighbours to the South in the USA but who wouldn't want to celebrate these days everywhere. Yum!
Here in Canada we have our beloved Canada Day on July 1. It's our day to celebrate all the things that make us who we are as individuals, and as a collective, along with all that makes this country we call home so unique and diverse.

It seems like in the Blink of an eye May is coming to a close and June is sliding into it's place. Though summer doesn't officially start until June 21st, the warm sun and shimmery green leaves are a very welcome sight. We wait months for this season to grace us with it's presence. Everything comes alive in bright vivid colour. The days get longer, the nights get warmer. Summer is never long enough so let's embrace every moment. Prince George is a beautiful summer city with water parks, and playground parks, river walks, Story time at the library, days at the nearby lakes for swimming and family picnics, roasting marshmallows over a campfire or just finding small moments in time to enjoy what the summer season brings.
Welcome June and welcome to the beginning of the warm summer days!!
