Athabasca Denesuline Final Agreement - North of 60

Athabasca Denesuline Final Agreement - North of 60 This page will keep you informed on North of 60 negotiations for the Athabasca Denesuline. Community information sessions and events will be advertised.

This page was created to highlight our beautiful territory, Nuhenéné, and to remind us why we are negotiating for our Rights North of 60. After 20 years of difficult negotiations, the Athabasca Denesuline will soon have a Final Agreement to present to our members for approval. This Agreement deals with constitutionally protected rights and benefits for the Athabasca Denesuline and applies

to much of our traditional territory in NWT and Nunavut. The Final Agreement will include, for example, provisions on wildlife harvesting, resource management, land claim settlement area, Hunter/Trapper Organizations, as well as other rights and benefits. To stay up to date on community meetings and information sessions, please contact our office and ensure you are on our mailing list. Or to receive more information on the Final Agreement and what it includes, please contact the Athabasca Denesuline Né Né Land Corporation, at (306) 953-7287 or email: [email protected]. Please remember to keep all discussion civil and respect other people. Any disrespectful comments will be promptly removed.

We honor our Elders who forged the path for us, striving to safeguard the lands of our ancestors for future generations.

It requires perseverance and commitment to ensure that the upcoming generations can enjoy their inherent rights to the land.

"It is said when God made this world, he made many different things, that is why the newcomers and First Nations people must help each other and work together." Elder - Black Lake First Nation
