Boreal Healthcare Foundation

Boreal Healthcare Foundation Our Foundation raises funds within our community to ensure our local hospital has the right piece of medical equipment, at the right time, to save lives.

The Victoria Hospital Foundation is the registered charity charged with the task of "enhancing and enriching" the quality of health care at the Victoria Regional Hospital. In recent years we have raised funds for numerous pieces of medical equipment that needed to be replaced or upgraded. There is a continuing need for funding due in part to the rapid advances being made in medical treatments available and the technology of today.

Looks like “Doctor Crane” drew the short straw and is coming down first, while “Ooga Booga” stands by for it’s turn.

See, This is why you don’t name things. You get attached!

They have only been in Prince Albert’s skyline for just under two years but It’s going to feel a little strange looking up and not seeing them every day. 🥲

Thanks for helping build the future of healthcare in northern Saskatchewan. The skyline may be changing, but the impact of this project is only just beginning. 🏗️💙www.borealhealthcare.ca

Behind every milestone in the Victoria Hospital redevelopment is a family hoping to stay close to home when care matters most.

When baby Bennett arrived early at 34 weeks and 5 days, his family was able to receive support right here at Victoria Hospital. Thanks to the team in the Malhotra NICU, along with maternity staff and lactation support, Bennett received the care he needed while his family stayed together close to home.

That is what this work is about.

It is about babies, families, patients, and healthcare teams across northern Saskatchewan. It is about making sure that when people need care, they can receive it as close to home as possible.

Every donor, volunteer, healthcare worker, business, and community member helping Equip the Vic is helping build that future.

You are not just looking at a construction site. You are looking at the future of care in northern Saskatchewan taking shape.

Today, the Government of Saskatchewan announced that construction on the new Victoria Hospital acute care tower has officially reached 50% completion.

For the more than 150,000 people across northern Saskatchewan who rely on the Vic, this is a moment worth pausing on.

The new tower is rising.

Better care, closer to home, is no longer just a promise. It is taking shape.

But here is what today’s announcement does not tell you.

The Government of Saskatchewan’s investment covers the construction of the building itself. The equipment, technology, beds, monitors, diagnostic tools, and everything that turns a building into a hospital must still be funded by the community.

That is exactly what the Equip the Vic Campaign is here to do.

With a $40 million goal, this campaign will help ensure the new Victoria Hospital opens fully equipped and ready to serve patients from Day 1.

And that work cannot wait until 2028.

Northern Saskatchewan organizations and families have already begun answering the call. Now, we invite you to learn more about what we are building together, and what your support makes possible.

Every day, we are reminded that healthcare is not just about buildings, equipment, or technology.

It is about people.

It is about the family waiting for answers. The patient hoping to stay closer to home. The nurse doing everything they can with the tools in front of them. The neighbour who quietly gives because they know that one day, someone they love may need that care too.

That is what community means to us.

It is not always loud. It is not always visible. Sometimes it looks like a volunteer giving their time, a business stepping forward, a family making a gift, or a simple belief that people here deserve to be cared for here.

None of us can carry the future of local healthcare alone.

But together, we can help build something stronger for the people and families who call this place home.

And that is the kind of community we are proud to be part of.
