🎤 VOTN 2026 Performer Spotlight 🎶

We’re excited to share another Voices of the North 2026 performer spotlight featuring Alex Powalinsky.

Alex is a Métis and Ukrainian artist with All My Relations Creative Connections who has been singing for as long as they can remember, with music always present in their life. Music is how they process emotion, work through change, and connect with others in a way that feels honest and grounded.

Their sound is shaped by rock and country influences, personal experience, and the people they move through life alongside. Alex draws inspiration from community spaces, youth finding their voices, and music that feels real and unapologetically human.

Performing at Voices of the North had a meaningful impact on Alex. It was a space where they felt supported and encouraged to take risks with their voice, helping them build confidence and feel more grounded performing in front of an audience. Alex is excited to be returning to the Voices of the North stage this year.

🎤 VOTN 2026 Performer Spotlight 🎶

We’re excited to share another Voices of the North 2026 performer spotlight featuring Ian Matthew Desjarlais.

Ian is an artist dedicated to the stage and to expression through music. He began performing at nine years old after picking up a guitar and has since gained extensive experience in live and professional productions. What once came with nerves now feels natural and calling driven, as music has become a powerful way for him to release stress, share emotion, and connect with others.

Rooted in country, country rock, and rock, Ian draws inspiration from his friends, the members of C W**d Band, his family, and the ongoing support of fans. Music continues to be both his grounding force and creative outlet.

Known to many as Hitman for his ability to play drums, guitar, bass, and sing, Ian is joining the Voices stage for the first time this year.
