Toebean is a beautiful 2-year-old brown tabby with a whole lot of love to give… and some very special little paws!

Toebean was born with a congenital deformity affecting her front paws. She is missing some toes, and the nails she does have grow in some pretty unusual places and directions. Our veterinary team has checked her over and confirmed that this is simply something she was born with.

And the best part? Toebean has absolutely no idea she’s different. 🥹🐾

She walks around just fine, gets where she wants to go, and is expected to live a happy, normal life. Her paws may look a little different, but they certainly don’t slow her down!

Her future family will just need to pay a little extra attention to her toenails. Because they grow irregularly, they’ll need to be checked regularly and trimmed as needed to keep her comfortable.

But we think her funny little toes just make a pretty special cat even more memorable. ❤️

And her personality? An absolute sweetheart.

Toebean has never met a stranger. She is incredibly loving, affectionate and social, and seems to believe that every person she meets is simply a new friend she hasn’t cuddled yet. 🥰

She doesn’t need anyone to feel sorry for her. She just needs someone who will love her funny little feet, keep an eye on those quirky toenails, and give her all the affection she’s more than happy to return.

🐾 Different paws. Completely normal life. One incredibly lovable girl.

Could Toebean’s funny little toe beans be padding their way around your home? 💗

Winnie is one of those special girls who seems to melt right into everyone she meets. She has so much love to give and is happiest when she’s close to her people—snuggled against you, soaking up attention, and giving plenty of affection right back. 💕

She isn’t asking for anything fancy. Just a family to love, a cozy place to curl up, and preferably a lap that’s available whenever she decides it’s cuddle time. 🥹

Right now, Ivan holds a title we wish he didn’t have: he is our longest-residing dog currently in care.

During his time with us, Ivan has watched many dogs arrive at the shelter after him and leave before him.

He’s watched new faces come through the kennels. He’s watched dogs meet their families, pack up their things, and head off to start their next chapter.

And through it all, Ivan has simply continued with his days here.

Waiting for his own chapter to begin.

What makes his story especially hard for us is that Ivan has yet to receive a single adoption application.

Not because he isn’t a wonderful dog.

Sometimes, a dog simply waits longer to be noticed.

Ivan is 3 years old and, more than anything, he is a companion. He loves being outside, exploring, going for walks and enjoying the sunshine. But he’s just as happy when the adventure is over and he can settle in beside someone he loves.

He likes being near his people.

He likes having someone to share his day with.

And we can picture him so easily in a home — stretched out in the backyard on a sunny afternoon, joining his family for a walk, curled up beside someone at the end of the day, and slowly becoming part of all those little everyday routines that make a dog your dog. ❤️

For now, those moments happen with us.

We get to be the people he walks with.
The people he snuggles beside.
The people he looks forward to seeing every day.

And we love being those people for him.

But we also know that somewhere beyond our shelter doors, there may be someone who could be his person for good.

Ivan isn’t a sad dog. His story isn’t a sad one.

It’s simply unfinished.

And after watching so many of his friends begin their lives outside the shelter, we would really love to see what the next chapter looks like for him. 🐾

🏡 Ivan is 3 years old and available for adoption.

Learn more or submit an application at:
www.princealbertspca.ca

If you can’t adopt, sharing Ivan’s story can help introduce him to someone who might look at that handsome face and think:

“There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” ❤️

Woodstock has been ADOPTED!!!

Looking for a little companion with scales, personality, and plenty of charm? Meet Woodstock!

Woodstock is a 4-year-old bearded dragon who is social, friendly, and comfortable being handled. He enjoys interacting with people and is a great little buddy for someone interested in welcoming a reptile into their family.

Bearded dragons can make wonderful pets, but they do have some specialized needs that are important to understand before adopting.

☀️ What does owning a bearded dragon involve?

🦎 A proper enclosure: Adult beardies need a spacious habitat with room to move, climb, bask, and explore. A minimum 4' x 2' x 2' enclosure is generally recommended for an adult.

☀️ Heat & UVB: Bearded dragons rely on their environment to regulate their body temperature. Woodstock will need a proper basking area, temperature gradient, and high-quality UVB lighting that is replaced on schedule.

🥬 A varied diet: Adult beardies eat primarily leafy greens and vegetables along with appropriately sized live insects. Variety and proper calcium supplementation are important parts of keeping them healthy.

🛁 Regular care: His enclosure will need routine spot cleaning and deeper cleaning, and his temperature, lighting, appetite, bowel movements, skin, nails, and overall condition should be monitored.

🩺 Reptile veterinary care: Bearded dragons can develop health problems just like any other pet, so adopters should have access to a veterinarian experienced with reptiles/exotics.

❤️ A long-term commitment: With good care, bearded dragons can live 10–15 years or sometimes longer, so adopting Woodstock could mean many more years together!

Woodstock may be a little different from the cats and dogs in our adoption gallery, but he deserves the same thing they do—a family committed to giving him everything he needs to thrive.

If you think Woodstock could be the scaly little sidekick you've been looking for, apply to adopt through www.princealbertspca.ca! 🦎💚

Meet Barbie & Laney, two adorable little girls who are officially available for adoption! 🏡💗

🌸 Barbie – 2 years old (Barbie has been ADOPTED!!!)
Barbie is a tiny Chihuahua with a BIG personality! She is very reserved and shy when meeting new people, and true to her breed, she can have a little spicy side when she’s unsure. 🌶️ Barbie needs a family who will be patient, respect her boundaries, and take introductions nice and slow.

But once you earn this girl’s trust? You’ve got yourself a little soulmate. 🥹💕 Once Barbie bonds with her person, she wants to be in your arms and by your side wherever you go.

🌼 Laney – 3 years old (Laney has been ADOPTED!!!)
Laney is a sweet little Poodle mix who can be a bit reserved when first meeting someone new. Give her some time to get comfortable, though, and her personality blossoms! Laney is playful, loving, happy-go-lucky, and has such a wonderful joy for life. 🥰

Both Barbie and Laney are currently awaiting their spay surgeries. They will need to remain in our care until their surgeries are complete and they have had time to heal, but that doesn’t mean they have to wait to find their families!

We would LOVE to have their forever homes lined up and waiting so that once they’re healed and cleared to leave, they can go straight from the shelter into their new homes. 🏡💕

Could one of these little ladies be your new best friend?

🐾 Apply for adoption at www.princealbertspca.ca

Please share and help Barbie & Laney find their people!

Looking for a dog who hears “adventure” and is already waiting at the door?

Meet Takoda, a 2-year, 10-month-old Husky who is true to his breed in all the best ways. This handsome boy is energetic, active, adventurous and always raring and ready to GO! 💙

Takoda would absolutely thrive with a family who loves spending time outdoors. A farm or acreage where he can enjoy the fresh air would be a dream, but he would also be incredibly happy with an active family who enjoys long walks, hikes and bringing their dog along for the adventure.

🥾 Hiking? He’s ready.
🌲 Exploring? Absolutely.
🚗 Car ride? SHOTGUN!

Ask Takoda if he wants to go for a ride and you won’t have to ask twice. 😂 He’ll happily hop in, claim his spot and eagerly wait to see where the day is taking you.

And underneath all that Husky energy is a complete loverboy. ❤️

Takoda loves his people and would make an incredible companion for someone looking for a dog who can keep up with an active lifestyle but still has plenty of affection to give.

🐶 Takoda is good with other dogs and could enjoy having a canine buddy to share his adventures with.

🐱 He does need a home without cats. Takoda has that very typical Husky instinct to chase when something small takes off running, so a kitty-free home will be the best fit for him.

Takoda isn’t looking for a life spent watching the world go by—he wants to be out there experiencing it.

He wants the trails. The country roads. The fresh air. The car rides. The new smells. The adventures.

Most importantly, he wants someone to experience all of it with. 💙

If your idea of a great day involves getting outside, going somewhere new and having a big handsome Husky riding shotgun on the way there, Takoda might just be your perfect adventure buddy.

🐾 Apply to adopt Takoda at www.princealbertspca.ca

Please share and help us find this adventurous boy the active family he’s been waiting for!

Did you know that the Prince Albert SPCA continuously accepts fresh produce donations for the small animals and rodents in our care? 💚

During garden season, we take advantage of all that wonderful fresh produce by drying and preserving as much as we can. These goodies become healthy, tasty snacks that we can use throughout the winter and year-round for the little critters who come through our doors!

So whether you’re harvesting your garden, cleaning up at the end of the season, or simply have some extra produce in your fridge that you aren’t going to use — think of our little friends! 🐹🌱

Some of our favourites include:

🌿 Fresh herbs
🌼 Dandelion leaves
🥒 Zucchini
🎃 Squash & pumpkin
🌱 Raspberry leaves
🍓 Strawberry leaves
🫑 Bell peppers
🥕 Carrots
🍎 Leaves & branches from apple trees

And this isn’t just a one-time donation drive! We are happy to continuously accept suitable fresh produce and garden goodies whenever you have them available. If we can use it fresh, we will — and when we have extras, we can dry them to help build up our treat supply for the colder months. ❄️

📍 Donations can be dropped off at the Prince Albert SPCA any day during our regular business hours.

Your overflowing garden, extra grocery-store produce or end-of-season harvest could become something pretty special to a tiny animal in our care.
