June is National Indigenous History Month 🧡

The meaning behind the visuals:

This month, we honour the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

The artwork for National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day features a feather, narwhal, and fiddle, symbolizing First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultures united through connection and shared strength. Flowing lines, floral elements, and beadwork-inspired patterns reflect relationships to the land, water, and all living beings. Stars honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, while flames represent the resilience, knowledge, and traditions that continue to guide future generations.

The vibrant colours are inspired by the summer solstice and sunrise, symbolizing renewal, hope, diversity, and celebration.

June is Stroke Month - You can’t reason with a stroke. The instant you recognize any of the signs, call 9-1-1 FAST. Do not drive to the hospital. An ambulance will drive you to the closest hospital that provides urgent stroke care. Know the signs. Lifesaving treatment begins the second you call 9-1-1. www.heartandstroke.ca/FAST
