🐿️🍂 FEED THE SQUIRREL – LEARNING THROUGH SENSORY PLAY! 🌰👐
Who knew feeding a hungry little squirrel could involve so much learning? 🐿️
Our Feed the Squirrel Sensory Bin is a simple and fun activity that encourages children to scoop, grab, pinch, pour and transfer items as they help fill the squirrel’s tummy!
While it may look like simple play, children are building important skills along the way.
✅Fine Motor Skills – Picking up small items and using scoops, tongs or their fingers helps strengthen the little muscles in their hands and fingers needed for future skills like writing, cutting and getting dressed.
✅Hand-Eye Coordination – Children practice carefully moving items and getting them into the squirrel’s mouth.
✅Problem Solving & Concentration – Figuring out how to pick up, carry and feed the items encourages focus, patience and persistence.

🏠 TRY IT AT HOME!
You don’t need expensive toys to create meaningful play experiences. Make a simple squirrel from a cardboard box or container, cut an opening for its mouth, and add safe sensory materials for your child to “feed” the squirrel. Add cups, spoons or child-safe tongs for even more fine motor practice!
