COMMUNITY AWARENESS: WHAT BUSINESSES ARE EXPERIENCING IN PRINCE ALBERT

Yesterday, we shared a snapshot of security activity across commercial areas in Prince Albert for March 2026.

Today, similar situations were observed again.

This is not to alarm—but to raise awareness of what many businesses quietly manage every day.

RECENT INCIDENTS

At one restaurant, an individual was found resting inside the premises during business hours.

The situation was handled calmly and respectfully, and the individual left without issue.

Shortly after, additional individuals approached the area. Upon noticing a security presence, they left. One later returned and had to be asked again to leave.

The situation was resolved without escalation.

At another location, an individual who had previously been restricted from the property returned and acted in an aggressive manner.

The situation was managed professionally, and the individual was directed to leave without further incident.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE COMMUNITY

These types of situations reflect ongoing challenges that businesses, staff, and service providers are navigating:

Repeated presence of individuals at restricted locations
Occasional aggressive or disruptive behaviour
The need for calm, consistent responses

This Happened Yesterday in Prince Albert — We Need to Talk

Yesterday, a business on 15th Street East in Prince Albert was left dealing with this situation.

This is becoming a regular issue for many businesses across our city.

It’s not just about inconvenience anymore — it’s about:

Safety of staff
Customer experience
Cleanliness and sanitation
Businesses trying to operate in difficult conditions

Let’s be clear — this is not about attacking anyone.

We understand that some individuals are going through difficult circumstances. But at the same time, businesses and workers also deserve a safe and respectful environment.

Right now, many feel like this issue is being ignored or normalized.

What is your honest opinion — and what solutions do you think can work for both businesses and vulnerable individuals?

There has to be a balance between compassion and accountability.
