ReNew Art Faire preview:

Image 1: qathet Flax to Linen -
From seed to shirt in local dirt! Led by collaborators and community driven, this grass-roots endeavour invites us to connect more deeply with the land, the fibre that we wear, each other, and our Selves through the re-animation of traditional skills. Join textile artists Amber Gould and Juliette Jarvis to bring head, heart, and hands together with remedial intention for our earth and our souls. Learn how to grow, process, spin, and weave flax seed into heirloom quality fabric (or just a few of the steps along the way) and co-create community!

Image 2: Kindred ReBuild -
A non-profit project with inclusion Powell River that collects furniture and building material donations to keep them out of the landfill. We turn these items into affordable, quality goods for the community. Our goal is to help protect the environment and make sure everyone can access what they need at an affordable price.

Learn more about these projects and many more on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10-4pm at Dwight Hall.

The ReNew Art Faire is free event. It will feature the work of over 30 artists from qathet, Vancouver Island and surrounding areas who are pushing the limits of traditional craftsmanship by using upcycled, recycled and sustainable materials.

ReNew Art Faire preview:

Image 1: Willow avenue / Catherine -
Catherine Langevin (the artist behind Willow Ave.) is a willow weaver based in qathet, BC, with a focus on creating sustainable, functional pieces like foraging baskets, backpacks, and home decor. Her work is inspired by a deep commitment to living gently with the earth, with each creation reflecting this intention. Beyond her craft, Catherine is passionate about teaching. She offers weaving workshops across the Sunshine Coast, Lower Mainland, and Vancouver Island, where she shares her love of weaving and empowers others to create their own sustainable woven pieces.

Image 2: Found Stone Jewelry~Art~Decor -
Suzi Wiebe is the owner of Found Stone Jewelry~Art~Decor, a local artist based in Powell River BC. Suzi creates Whimsical Beach Glass Art and Decor found on the shores of the Salish Sea. Her work is humorous, heartwarming and allows people to see themselves, family and friends reflected in her art.

Image 3: Trash to Treasure -
When Carmen retired she decided to teach herself how to sew again with thrifted fabric and garments. She transforms someone's trash into a treasure, making a variety of items that are sold at the Farmers Market and Craft Fairs.

Look forward to these artists work and much more, Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10-4pm at Dwight Hall.

ReNew Art Faire preview:

Image 1: Paloma Joy -
Paloma Joy makes more than upcycled clothing. She is an alchemist of fabric with threads that reach into the spiritual realm. Using her ability to channel energies, she works intuitively to create high vibrational art.

Image 2: Theo Angell -
Working with up-cycled materials expands the possibilities of meaning within the materials themselves and their new found context. The past lives of materials bring their own reincarnated forms to make a visionary compost, feeding potential shape-shifting harbingers for future aesthetics. Theo's work has shown in Europe, Istanbul, NYC, Los Angeles, Mexico and Powell River. Theo has been working with found materials, including film, his whole life.

ReNew Art Faire preview:

Image 1: Designature Art and Home -
Yeonmi Kim was raised in Seoul, South Korea, and received a BFA before
working in the fashion industry then interior design, while pursuing multidisciplinary art and craft work, including painting and wood work. She and her husband operated custom made wood furniture studio in Korea.
She immigrated to Canada in 2013 and now works as a visual artist based in Powell River, BC.

Image 2: Earthly Simple Jenny -
Jenny makes hand-woven rag rugs using recycled and reclaimed textiles. Most of her materials come from everyday fabrics that would otherwise be thrown away. She enjoys working with what’s already there and turning it into something useful, durable, and beautiful. Each rug is one of a kind, shaped by the history of the fabric and the hands-on process of making it.
