Youth & Family Youth Resource Centre The YRC is a program under the Youth & Family umbrella! It is a safe, caring community centre committed to supporting youth to realize their potential.

Hang out and enjoy snacks, arts & crafts, games and gym time! We look forward to seeing you soon! The YRC offers safe, supportive, supervised recreation & connection for youth. Its a great place to get away from it all, meet new people and enjoy activities. There are a variety of after school programs for different age groups ranging from from 8-18 years old. Our focus is on supporting youth to re

alize their potential through quality social, recreational, cultural, creative activities such as cooking/baking, games, art, sports to event planning and learning about relevant topics of interest to youth. We provide adult mentoring and access to community services as needed.

Sacred Creations is a virtual art group that celebrates the vibrant cultural heritage of Turtle Island through the voices, stories, and creativity of Indigenous artists. Rooted in respect, connection, and cultural learning, the group offers a welcoming space to explore Indigenous teachings, storytelling, and artistic expression while nurturing appreciation for all our relations.

Designed for youth ages 12 to 24 and their caregivers, Sacred Creations creates opportunities to learn, share, and grow together in a supportive and culturally enriching environment.

Need help covering rent or bills after losing work or being unable to work? This one-hour virtual workshop will explore income support options available to young adults.

We will cover what each program provides, who may qualify, when to apply, and how to get started. This session is designed for youth — and those supporting youth — who want to better understand financial support programs and be prepared for challenging times, whether support is needed now or in the future.

Mental Health Week - This year's theme by the Canadian Mental Health Association is Come Together, Canada and encourages us to connect with ourselves and the community to support wellness. People report feeling disconnected despite the digital connection of online life. Reach out! Keep in touch with your family & friends, attend community events, be kind to a stranger and you just might make a friend.
We encourage you to take care of your mental health as you would your physical health, knowing that its ok to talk about it, and its ok to ask for help. Youth and Family can help you find connection and resources at the Youth Resource Centre or in our Family Centre Library open from 12-4 Tuesday to Thursday at 5814 Ash Ave. All ages welcome.
