It is always an honour to have PRISMA Festival & Academy make space in their full schedule to visit the Market. We are really looking forward to having them this Sunday the 21st.

There will be three performances, The Telesis Trio (string trio in residence) and two PRISMA student brass chamber groups!
Lucky us!
We have a full weekend of music, acts on Saturday and following the PRISMA acts on Sunday. So come on out!
Saturday 10:30-12:30
Sunday 12:30-2:30

A little information about the Telesis Trio
"The Telesis Trio consists of German violinist Sara Göbel, Korean-Canadian violist Ryan Vis and Canadian cellist Abi Greenland. Their friendship formed during their studies at the University of Ottawa, where they won the 2023/24 Chamber Competition.

Once leaving uOttawa, each member went on to pursue individual musical endeavours around the world, but continue to be bridged together by their strong musical bond. The name Telesis is defined as progress that is intelligently planned and directed which connect to their core values as an ensemble, working to bring a professional yet personal performance experience to audiences."

A customer favourite Cottage Creek Bake Shop answers a popular question. Read on

“Do you have a store somewhere?”
“Where can we find you during the week?”

We get these questions almost every market weekend, and the answer is a little longer than we can usually manage answering while handing over sourdough and making change. 💛

A few things you might not know about Cottage Creek Bake Shop:

🌼 Our sourdough and a selection of treats are often available at Andtbaka Farm Store on the occasional Monday or Thursday. We’ll always post here when we’re delivering. And often there’s goodies from us in the freezer there too!

🌼 We love being small. It means we can bake what inspires us, follow the seasons, try new ideas, and say yes to customer requests. (Many party cakes have passed through our doors!)

🌼 We don't have plans for a brick-and-mortar storefront. The truth is, a shop comes with schedules, staffing, overhead, and a whole lot of time spent running a business instead of baking. We'd rather spend our days making good bread than managing a building.

🌼 Janet and Ken built the licensed commercial bake shop we use today. It's tucked away in the forest beside Cottage Creek, and it's a pretty magical place to spend a baking day or a super early morning.

🌼 Being small also means we can take a Tuesday off to pick berries, spend an afternoon testing a new recipe, take a last minute trip to the island, or make something just because it sounds delicious.

🌼 After all these years, the Powell River Farmers' Market off of McLeod is still our favourite part of the week. We get to see familiar faces, meet new ones, and be part of this incredible community year round.

We've been part of the original farmers market for 15 years, and honestly, there's nowhere we'd rather be.

Thank you for making this little forest bakery possible. ❤️ 🍞 🌲 🦅 🍄‍🟫

The Market is filling up with Vendors, more being added weekly, so be sure to come regularly to see who's new and what they're offering.
Our community is full of talent! Such creativity in so many forms. We highly encourage our customers to take a few minutes to chat up the vendors and learn something new.

There is a beautiful array of fresh produce, colourful eggs, delicious cuts of meat and more. The BC Farmers Markets Nutrition Coupon Program starts next week and we are looking forward to seeing this valuable program in action!

See you soon!

Did you know we have live music on our stage every weekend?
Do you want to play?

We are excited to have Wen and the Texada Boyz joining us on Sunday afternoon, what a treat! Please come out and support local music; bring your ears and leave something in the Tip Jar.

Speaking of treats, the Market is full of them, and in a broad context. You can have a sweet or savoury treat from The Butter Burrow or Bruce's Popcorn. But there's also other types, like a new plant for the garden Ohm Kitchen & Garden has locally grown citrus trees, a new pair of earrings from Enchanted Tree Jewelry or garment from to name a few.

Come out and try something different, your new favourite Market treat awaits!

See you Sunday 12:30-2:30 at 4365 McLeod Rd.

Did you come to the market during the power outage? Did you use your credit card at the INFO booth to buy some market money?

We took a chance on processing offline payments for our customers who didn't have cash.
Can you take a look at the following transactions.... could one of them be yours? If you're able to come to the INFO booth during our regular hours (Sat 10:30 - 12:30 or Sun 12:30-2:30) and make good on the declined transaction we'd appreciate it very much. We know it wasn't done on purpose.
